Question. 1. Explain different kinds of software applications.
Answer: Computersoftware isbasicallyprogramsandproceduresintendedtoperformspecifictasks
on a system. From the lowest level assembly language to the high level languages, there are
differenttypesof application software. Computer software systems are classified into three major
types namely system software, programming software and application software.
While system software comprises device drivers, OS, servers and software components,
programming software helps in writing programs
Question. 2. What are the Limitations of waterfall model? Explain
in brief.
Answer: The Waterfall Model was first Process Model to be introduced. It is also referred to as a
linear-sequential life cycle model. It is very simple to understand and use. In a waterfall model,
each phase mustbe completedfullybefore the nextphase canbegin.Thistype of model is basically
used for the for the project which is small and there are no uncertain requirements. At the end of
each phase, areviewtakesplace todetermine if the project is on the right path and whether or not
to continue or discard the project. In this model the testing starts only after the development is
complete. In waterfall model phases do not overlap.

Question. 5. Explain Black-Box Testing in detail.
Answer: Black-box testing is a method of software testing that examines the functionality of an
application without peering into its internal structures or workings. This method of test can be
applied virtually to every level of software testing: unit, integration, system and acceptance. It
typically comprises most if not all higher level testing, but can also dominate unit testing as well.
Specific knowledge of the application's code/internal structure and programming knowledge in
general is not required. The tester is aware of
Question. 6. Mention the different Architectural Alternatives.
Explain the briefly.
Answer: The following is a list of notable CPU architectures.
All computers run using very low-level commands which do some very basic functions, such as
readingdata,writingdata,jumpingtoaddresses,andcalculatingbasicarithmetic.(The complete list
of commandsthatcan be run bya CPU isknownas that computer’sinstructionset). Instruction sets
3. are relativelysmall;mosthigher-order programming languages, such as C++, Ada, Fortran, or Visual
Basic, must be compiled(ortranslated, orinterpreted)intothese low level commands in order for a
program to run.
