This document outlines a project for home automation using IoT. It discusses how home automation can simplify tasks, make them more affordable and easy to control. It also defines internet of things as connecting devices to transfer data over a network without human interaction. The proposed system would use WiFi modules in each room to automate lighting, heating/cooling, appliances and security from a mobile phone. Key components are the ESP8266 WiFi module, transistors, relays, and other basic electrical components. Quality assurance techniques like failure testing and statistical control will be applied.

The most important source of motivation in continuity of
technological developments is to upgrade human living
standards. The technological development provides and
increases human-beings’ safety and comfort directly and
indirectly. Developing technologies for this purpose directly
affects the life standards by means of smart home systems
design.

System consists of three main components; web server, which presents
system core that controls, and monitors users’ home and hardware
interface module, Wi-Fi shield.
Reduced Installation costs -Installation costs are significantly reduced
since no cabling is necessary.
Internet Connectivity -Control devices from anywhere in the world with
use mobile phones to control smart home
