Goals & Scope
To create a digital skills “road map” which would:
● Define & inventory digital skills
● Sequence digital skills so learners know what’s next
● Attach different digital skills to different goals
● Be a foundation for the creation of personalized learning
plans/pathways
Note: this is about skills leading to goals, not tools or programs
Keep in mind that more working groups can be spun off in this community

Goal of this activity: understand our jargon, check assumptions
Everyone take a piece of paper and answer the following:
● What are “digital skills”?
● What is the most basic “digital skill” you can think of?
● What is the most advanced “digital skill” you can think of?

Goal: think of the “user” or trainee
Let’s break into groups
With your group, take inventory of all of the goals or motivations that people
have which inspire them to learn a new digital/tech skill. Use the white
boards.

Goal: create a comprehensive list we can later refine and organize
Let’s break into different groups
With your group, take inventory of all the digital skills you can think of. Use
post-it notes or index cards

Goal: Can we categorize our comprehensive skills list by user goals?
