1. Summary of the 5 Newspaper
Articles and Websites that I Have
Found about The Walking Dead

2. In this presentation I am going to be analysing 5
different newspaper articles for the American TV
Drama ( The Walking Dead) and I am going to be
explaining what information the cuttings are giving
and what articles provides the most information
about the TV drama. I am also going to be doing a
summary about 5 websites which are about the
American TV series The Walking Dead and I am
going to be analysing each website and saying
which website has more information about the
series

3. The History of the Show
The Walking Dead was originally a comic book series
written and created by Robert Kirkman which have been
very successful and the comic book series was first issued
in 2003 and has won awards such as the Eisner Award for
Best Continuing Series in 2010
The Walking Dead first came out in 2010 and the first
episode got a view of 5.35 million the show got great
reviews so the show got renewed for a second season
with extended amount of episodes. The second season
went successfully and got nominated for different awards
such as the writers guild of America award and the golden
globe awards and the show ever since has been renewed
for a third and forth season in December 2012 . The TV
show has great reviews especially for the season 3
premiere with 10.9 million views.
Ever since the walking dead has been on TV further things
have developed e.g. different videos games released for
the show ect.

4. Newspaper Article 1
In the first article that I found the
information that is in there is
talking about the walking dead
being a much darker program than
the comic book actually and it is
talking about the characters being
similar to the ones in the comic
book. The article also talks about
what the show is like and says
things such as “ If you haven't seen
this show yet, stop what your doing
immediately get ready to be
hooked. The article also has a brief
description of what happens at the
start of the walking dead and a
brief intro to the story but what it
also has is a brief description of the
next episode that’s on so the
newspaper article does provide
some information but not enough
information about the TV drama

5. Newspaper Article 2
In the second Article its an actor who plays the
character (Merle Dixon) and he talks about what its
been like for him on the walking dead and he also
discusses the future of the walking dead in season
3 so this article may not provide much information
about the history of the walking dead but it does
provide future information about it for example he
is asked the question “do you think the relationship
between Daryl and Carole will continue to blossom
across season 3 “ and another question that was
asked was “ Daryl's become ricks go to guy in the
absence of Shane. Will merle drive a wedge
between that? “ and questions like that will revel
the future history of the walking dead so this
article does provide some future information about
the television series.

6. Newspaper Article 3
In the third article that I found about the
walking dead on mtv , it is talking about
what could happen in the future of the
show after the mid season finale so it is
providing information which could happen
in the future of the history of the walking
dead . It doesn’t discuss any of the past
history of the walking dead but it does go
on about what can happen in the future
with certain popular characters so it does
provide a good source of information for
example it mentions “ the shows ranks are
boosted by the arrival of Tyreeses party “
so this is providing information that the
show is getting more popular when they
introduce more characters from the comic
book series.

7. Newspaper Article 4
In the forth article that I have
found its someone's review on
the walking dead series and
they describe how they enjoyed
the series and all about the new
characters which makes season
3 and the article has a brief
description about the new
characters and how they will
attract viewers who read the
comic book to the series.
This article does provide some
information about the history of
the show but its just a brief
description about it but it is
mainly just a review about the
past seasons and what's
installed for the third season.

8. Newspaper Article 5
The fifth article on the walking dead is talking
about what happened on the first and second
episode of the walking dead and it is explaining in
detail what happened in theses episodes for
example it says “ last week we left our gang of
plucky zombie killers in a bad place, Sophia is
missing and Carl was shot.
The article does explain quite a good source of
information it gives quite a good description of The
Walking Dead and talks about what's happening
with each characters in the episode and what's
happening with them for example “ back at the rv,
Tdog is having a hard time , his arm is infected”.
Over all this article does provide a lot of
information about the first two episode's of season
2 in the walking dead it gives full descriptions
what's going on with each character and the state
they are in at the moment so this article is very
informative about the history of The Walking Dead.

9. Website one
The first website that I found with
information about the walking dead
was channel 5 . There is quite a bit
of information on this website but
the information is not that
informative it only has episodes to
view a brief information page about
the characters for example it just
explains who a character is and
that’s all the information they
provide for them. The website also
shows cast photos and some video
clips so I find that channel 5 does
provide information but not a lot of
information which goes into detail
about the TV series.

10. Website 2
The second website that I found
provides much more
information than the last one
because the website provides
information such as character
profiles episodes games, a news
letter photos shop ect but the
website still provides basic
information about the TV show
and its characters it still have a
brief description about the
characters and it doesn't go into
detail about the characters so
this website is an improvement
from the first one but it still isn't
completely up to scratch

11. Website 3
The third website provides very
little information about the TV
show , the website is mainly to
promote the walking dead
magazine because the pages
which are displayed are news
and features which just describes
what's in the latest issue and
there other links showing you
how to describe to the walking
dead magazine and how you can
purchase back issues so this
website doesn’t provides no
information about the TV show
just promotes the magazine .

12. Website 4
The forth website that I found provides all the
information that you can get about the walking
dead it has different sections talking about the TV
show , the comic book, the video games and it has
character profiles for every single character in the
series including characters which have only
appeared once and it tells you everything about
the characters , there back story's all about them
before the show and it tells every moment they
had in the show and it even tells you information
about what the characters killed e.g. number of
zombies killed , characters that have been killed
ect.
The other good thing about this website is that it
tells you the whole story about the walking dead in
perfect detail explaining what happens every
moment and it also explains what happened in the
past before the zombie outbreak began.

13. Website 5
The fifth website does provide
some information about the show
for example it shows an episode
guide giving a brief description
about each episode and it also
gives you the opportunity to watch
episodes online and it lets you view
the actors profiles who star in the
show and provides information
about the past shows that the
actors have started in and the
website also shows the publics
reviews about the show so the
website does provide a brief
description about the TV show but
it doesn’t give all the information
that it should do.

14. Conclusion
Overall I think that the forth website
that I found provides the most
information because the walking
dead wiki website provides all the
information that you could ever need
about the TV show, the
characters, the plot ect and it also
goes into back story information and
characters which have only had a
brief role in the TV show so walking
dead wiki is the best website that I
have found yet for information about
the TV show .The newspaper cuttings
that I found also provide quite a lot of
information about the TV show and
other peoples opinions about the
show but overall I find that the
websites are a much better source of
information because you can find
everything you want on the websites
.
