2. Description of Business Idea
GreenDream’s product, DreamGreen, is an innovative smart irrigation system (SIS) that focuses on
sustainability, accessibility, and flexibility. It provides consumers a way to water their plants effortlessly
and reliably by detecting soil moisture levels and irrigating appropriately until the levels meet a
user-inputted threshold. Its customization in user-centered thresholds revolutionizes the smart
irrigation system market by providing a high-quality, adjustable option at an affordable price.

3. Problem
With water usage being an issue in Utah, the EPA reports that “a household with an automatic
landscape irrigation system (ALIS) can waste up to 25,000 gallons of water annually.” In addition, these
systems waste thousands of dollars yearly operating on a timer, having preventable losses with SIS's.
Moreover, the large-scale use of ALIS has had detrimental effects on the Great Salt Lake.

4. Market
Our target customer consists of middle class homes, which make up the largest population using ALIS.
