This document certifies that Adina Halilovic participated in a Youth Exchange project organized by the British Red Cross from June 26-July 3, 2013 in Derry-Londonderry, United Kingdom. Youth Exchanges
Within the European 'Youth in Action' Programme, a Youth Exchange is a project where young people work
and live together in an international group for a specific time. lt consists of preparation, implementation, and
follow-up activities For the duration of the Youth Exchange, young people undertake a joint programme of
activities with specific aims and objectives.
Young people from different countries and backgrounds co-operate with each other supported by experienced
youth workers and leaders. They develop pefsonal, professional, and intercultural competences.
Youth Exchanges foster the mobility of young people in Europe They encourage initiative and creativity in
young people, facilitate their active participation in the project, and thereby provide an intercultural learning
exoenence.
Offering the added value of a European dimension, Youth Exchanges are quality-checked regarding content
criteria a nd imolementation.

Project description
The exchange project was developed and implemented in cooperation with the following partners:
Partner 1 British Red Cross, Partner 2 lrish Red Cross, Partner 3 Red Cross of Brcko district of Bosnia
and Hezegovina, Partner 4 Macedonian Red Cross apd Partner 5 Red Cross of Serbia.
The aim and the specific objectives of the project were.
The vision of the project is to create resilient communities where young people are inspired,
encouraged and supported to both promote and take humanitarian action, thereby contributing to the
maintenance and promotion of human dignity and a culture of non-violence and peace.
Main activities:
COMMUNITY FUN DAY organised by the young people that involved them working in teams to lead
interactive humanitarian activities. Interactive group sessions on human dignity, conflict and culture.
Participation in a MIGRATION PANEL and discussioh with panelists.
The main achievements of the project were the following:
The project successfully engaged a range of young people in a programme or educational and social
activities. Through the project the young people have increased awareness, understanding and skills
These skills were used in the hugely successful Community Fun Day the young people plan and lead.

The following pages contain the individual information about the participation of ADINA HALILOVIC in the
youth Exchange Developing youth work in post conflict societies through cross-cultural exchange:

Task / responsibility of ADINA HALILOVIC :
participants were responsible to complete pre-exchange training and induction to the programme
and Red Cross. During the programme participants were responsible for their full participation and
commitment to the activities. They helped plan and lead a community outreach day'
ADINA HALILOMC developed the following competences during the Youth Exchange.
Communication in foreign languages
Throughout the entire programme participants were expected to communicate in English They expressed their
opinions, thoughts and ideas in English during all activities
Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship
All the young people developed and showed leadership and initiative during the programme. They worked
in teams to plan and lead different sections of a successful Community Fun Day. They worked effectively in
teams and further developed their leadership skills.
Cultural awareness and expression
All the young peopte prepared a cultural presentation to represent their country. During the project they were
involved in a multi-cultural evening. At this they made their presentations and listened to and learnt about the
other countries involved.
