Palolem Beach
Yoga is an ancient technology of personal
transformation. Its tools are remarkably simple, and yet,
its effects are profound.
The true power of yoga lies not in the strength and
vitality it gives the physical body (though this is
undeniable), but rather in the profoundly positive ways it
can change our entire human system. Yoga can refine the
mind, clear negative emotions, create positive habits and
behaviors, improve our relationships and potentially
bring forth profound spiritual experiences.
UYLS is conducting these Yoga Courses at one of the
most beautiful beach in the world - Colomb, Palolem,
Goa. Colomb - Palolem Beach is largely unspoiled and is
inhabited by both local fishermen and by foreign tourists
who live in shacks along the shore or in the main village
itself. It is about one mile (approximately 1.61 km) long
and is crescent-shaped; one can view the entire beach
from either end. Both ends of the beach consist of rocks
jutting out into the sea. The depth of the sea increases
gradually, being shallowest at the northern end of the
beach, making it safe for average swimmers, as the
currents too are not very fast.
The beach is featured as the Goan residence of Jason
Bourne (Matt Damon) in the film The Bourne Supremacy
(2004). The initial footage in the movie gives a good idea
of the natural beauty of the beach - the distinctive tree
covered rocks at one end (known locally as Green Island -
to which tours are run) and beach shacks. At the top of
the island adjoining Palolem Beach there is a stone
sculpture created by an American conceptual and land
artist Jacek Tylicki called "Give if you can – Take if you
have to" also called the "Money Stone". It became a
pilgrimage destination. At the low tide it is a tough jungle
walk and a guide is recommended. People can leave or
take money at will at the Money Stone. (From Wikipedia)

Authentic Teachings
Yoga is a practice that has been passed down from
one generation to the next for at least several
thousand years. It is an ancient discipline, with deep
theoretical and practical roots, and there is a rich
textual tradition that underlies and explains the
practice, its applications and its meaning.
Śri Yogendra from The Yoga Institute, Mumbai (The
oldest Yoga Institution) was one of the most
influential masters of yoga in modern times. His
knowledge of Yoga, Ayurveda, Sanskrit and the
primary Indian philosophical schools was unrivaled.
Yet the main focus of his energy and life-long work
was the study, practice and teaching of therapeutic
Yoga for supporting health, healing, and personal
transformation of house-holders.
Pundit Ji has studied in this tradition in 90’s and his
immediate guru is Dr. Jaydev Yogendra (Son of Shri
Yogendra). Yoga is a life-long path, which provides
ongoing opportunities for learning and refinement.
To be a good teacher requires that one be actively
applying what they are teaching. UYLS teacher’s
Training program models this inside and outside the
classroom.

Teachings
One of the most important aspects of Shri Yogendra’s
teaching is that they have shown, simply and clearly,
how all of the different aspects of yoga fit together as
a single, coherent whole. All of the pieces, including
movement/asana, breathing techniques/praṇayama,
meditation, gestures/nyasa, sound/mantra,
chanting, philosophy, ethics and daily life, etc., work
together as a single, unified practice.
At the UYLS Institute, we do not mix various
philosophical disciplines.  This program is a
complete yoga program. Yoga for body, breath,
mind, philosophy, personal transformation,
therapeutics, etc.; all of it. And all of it explained in
ways that makes sense and applies to our modern
day culture and life. We’re sure you will find it very
intellectually satisfying and affirming to see and feel
how each aspect prepares for, aids and enables all
the others.

Experiential
The UYLS’s Teacher Training will provide you with a
deep understanding of:
How to practice and teach asana (physical
postures), including
• Techniques: how to correctly practice the
main postures, in the classical way
• Primary effects and purposes of each asana /
posture
• How to adapt each posture to achieve the
proper function of the posture
• How to organize postures into different
sequences to achieve different results.
Specifically this involves understanding the physical
requirements of each posture as well as the strain
each posture puts on the body/mind/breath and
how these can be utilized in combination with those
other postures. The resulting understanding is an
incredibly adaptable system for creating practices.
 
How to practice and teach praṇayama
(conscious breathing), including
• Definition of praṇayama, what it means, why
it’s practiced, etc.
• How to create a praṇayama practice
• How to develop the quality and length of the
breath
• Praṇayama techniques: how to practice, use
and teach different praṇayama techniques
• Praṇayama ratios: how to practice,
development and teach different breathing
ratios
How to practice and teach meditation
(dhyana), including :
• Different understandings of meditation: How
to create and develop meditation practices
• Meditation techniques: their practice, effects
and how to teach them

choose them
How to practice yoga in daily life or ”off the
mat”, including
• In depth learning of Patañjali’s Yogasutra. This
is the traditional main presentation of how to
live the path of yoga.

Personal Transformation,
The Foundation of Teaching.
Obviously, a lot of information is presented over the
course of the training, but the emphasis is always
how to apply the information and how to facilitate
the experiences. Yoga is not informational. Yoga is
experiential, it must be done, practiced and
experienced to be understood and to have an effect
on us and thus to change us. The UYLS’s training
emphasizes the practical application of yoga and its
tools. The training covers not only what the tools are,
but how to think about using them, how to
understand the way they function (according to the
traditional models within which they were created),
and how to use them. The result of this process is
self-transformation. Gradual, sustainable and
meaningful, personal transformation, achieved
through the immensely satisfying and interesting
path of yoga. These are proven and profound
teachings designed to help you, and therefore
students, achieve the joy, freedom and health of a
person in balance with their most authentic self.

The UYLS’s program provides a precious opportunity
to be trained in the therapeutic yoga tradition of Śri
Yogendra.  A tradition rooted in “The Yoga Institute”, a
world famous and oldest Yoga Institute. The training

Bhakti Kutir : Stay under the canopy of this two acre
coconut grove in one of twenty two back-to-nature
cabanas. No two cabanas are alike. Fashioned from
local materials like rice straw, and bamboo, the
cabanas are built to include trees, leaves, and to let
you see the moon and star-filled skies. The living
areas combine a rural feel with a surprising degree of
comfort.

Meal
Food is one very important aspect in the Yogic Life
Style. Right quality and quantity of food along with
proper eating time not only keeps the people alive, it
also keeps free from all physical disorders and
enhances their energy level. In this course, we
provide light, freshly prepared and easily digestible
diet with all required macronutrients like Proteins,
Carbohydrates, Fats; micronutrients like Vitamins,
Minerals and other essential components of food like
Roughage and Water to meet all requirements of our
body. It is completely Vegetarian and Vegan food.
Certification
Graduates will receive Yoga Teacher Certification
from the UYLS and will be able to register with Yoga
Alliance as a certified teacher. UYLS is also registered
with Council for Yoga Accreditation & Affiliations,
International Yoga federation and Yoga Alliance

With 23 years of extensive Yoga teaching experience,
Pundit Radheshyam Mishra has a vast and deep
know-how of Indian cultural traditions. A man with
deep urge to serve humanity and man-kind, Pundit
Ji went to various places and gurus in search of a
true path in life. He has spent his early years studying
Indian classical music, Indian Ritual Traditions,
Indian Astrology and Ayurveda, Tantra tradition and
Hath Yoga. Later he discovered that Yoga
encapsulates all the other traditions of Indian
culture and thus began his systematic training in the
science of Yoga at the Yoga Institute at Santacruz,
Mumbai, India under the guidance of his true guru

Dr Babita is Coordinator of all
Research & Academic Programs of
UYLS, whether they are day-to-

International Event. She has an

therefore a er completing her Post Graduate Diploma in
Yoga Education and Advance Yoga Teacher’s Training RYT
500 level in 2012, she has joined RYT 200, 300 and 500 Hrs
again. Her dedication towards the UYLS and Yoga is
unmatched. A passionate Academician by profession, she
practically lives the life of a yogi. Her deep understanding
of Yoga Philosophy and vast knowledge of Human
Anatomy and Physiology along with good Communication
Skills makes her the excellent Yoga Master.
Dr Anita Choudhary
Being Professor and Head in the
Physiology Department of RDG
Medical College, Ujjain MP India,
Dr Anita leads a very busy life of
an Academician and Researcher.
But her interest in yoga brought
her to Ujjain Yoga Life Society. A er learning Yoga from
there, she is rendering her selfless service to the UYLS
since its foundation and holds various positions during its
International events. Now-a-days she is trying to infuse
the yogic approach of holistic health into her medico
students and doing research in therapeutic aspects of
yoga. She holds Master degree in Physiology and Post
Graduate Diploma in Yoga Education.
Ms Simmi Saxena
A very calm and quite person by
nature but her perseverance with
the given task is phenomenal.
Ayurved Ratna Mrs Simmi is now
pursuing her Ph D research work
in “Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras” and is
trying to simplify to make them easily comprehendible
and thus useful for every layman and even for the kids.
She is quite capable of transforming the heavy
philosophical ancient yogic text into simpler one for the
beginners in yoga training. She is a well trained,
experienced, diligent and devoted Yoga Master RYT-500 of
UYLS.
Ms Latika Vyas
A vibrant, charming, hardworking,
well trained, experienced and
devoted Yoga Master of UYLS who
makes the asanas practice a
joyous task even to the beginners
whether it is a routine Yoga
session, special camps or a TTC. Apart from holding
degree of Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga Education and
RYT-500 certification, academically Mrs Latika has already
submitted her Ph. D. thesis in Nutrition and Dietetics, so
she also expertise in one of the pillars of yoga namely
“AHAAR” (Food). Her friendly and jovial ways can boost
every body’s spirit and inspires them to strive for
achieving their goals in yoga practice.

David is giving training to the
students and corporate of various
fields all over the Nation. He is at
par in imparting the
communication skills in the
learner. He is a Social Activist too and is working day and
night to raise the awareness regarding various social
concerns like gender inequality, safety measures on roads
etc. amongst the people of society especially the youth.
He is blessed with the impactful, deep voice and thus is a
Voice over Artist as well.

  • 4. Become a Teacher at Palolem Beach Yoga is an ancient technology of personal transformation. Its tools are remarkably simple, and yet, its effects are profound. The true power of yoga lies not in the strength and vitality it gives the physical body (though this is undeniable), but rather in the profoundly positive ways it can change our entire human system. Yoga can refine the mind, clear negative emotions, create positive habits and behaviors, improve our relationships and potentially bring forth profound spiritual experiences. UYLS is conducting these Yoga Courses at one of the most beautiful beach in the world - Colomb, Palolem, Goa. Colomb - Palolem Beach is largely unspoiled and is inhabited by both local fishermen and by foreign tourists who live in shacks along the shore or in the main village itself. It is about one mile (approximately 1.61 km) long and is crescent-shaped; one can view the entire beach from either end. Both ends of the beach consist of rocks jutting out into the sea. The depth of the sea increases gradually, being shallowest at the northern end of the beach, making it safe for average swimmers, as the currents too are not very fast. The beach is featured as the Goan residence of Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) in the film The Bourne Supremacy (2004). The initial footage in the movie gives a good idea of the natural beauty of the beach - the distinctive tree covered rocks at one end (known locally as Green Island - to which tours are run) and beach shacks. At the top of the island adjoining Palolem Beach there is a stone sculpture created by an American conceptual and land artist Jacek Tylicki called "Give if you can – Take if you have to" also called the "Money Stone". It became a pilgrimage destination. At the low tide it is a tough jungle walk and a guide is recommended. People can leave or take money at will at the Money Stone. (From Wikipedia)

When tailored to the individual needs and capabilities of each person, the tools of yoga can coax tremendous positive transformation out of us.  Authentic Teachings Yoga is a practice that has been passed down from one generation to the next for at least several thousand years. It is an ancient discipline, with deep theoretical and practical roots, and there is a rich textual tradition that underlies and explains the practice, its applications and its meaning. Śri Yogendra from The Yoga Institute, Mumbai (The oldest Yoga Institution) was one of the most influential masters of yoga in modern times. His knowledge of Yoga, Ayurveda, Sanskrit and the primary Indian philosophical schools was unrivaled. Yet the main focus of his energy and life-long work was the study, practice and teaching of therapeutic Yoga for supporting health, healing, and personal transformation of house-holders. Pundit Ji has studied in this tradition in 90’s and his immediate guru is Dr. Jaydev Yogendra (Son of Shri Yogendra). Yoga is a life-long path, which provides ongoing opportunities for learning and refinement. To be a good teacher requires that one be actively applying what they are teaching. UYLS teacher’s Training program models this inside and outside the classroom. Comprehensive, Coherent Teachings One of the most important aspects of Shri Yogendra’s teaching is that they have shown, simply and clearly, how all of the different aspects of yoga fit together as a single, coherent whole. Beyond Information, Deeply Experiential The UYLS’s Teacher Training will provide you with a deep understanding of: How to practice and teach asana (physical postures), including • Techniques: how to correctly practice the main postures, in the classical way • Primary effects and purposes of each asana / posture • How to adapt each posture to achieve the proper function of the posture • How to organize postures into different sequences to achieve different results. Specifically this involves understanding the physical requirements of each posture as well as the strain each posture puts on the body/mind/breath and how these can be utilized in combination with those other postures. The resulting understanding is an incredibly adaptable system for creating practices.   How to practice and teach praṇayama (conscious breathing), including • Definition of praṇayama, what it means, why it’s practiced, etc. • How to create a praṇayama practice • How to develop the quality and length of the breath • Praṇayama techniques: how to practice, use and teach different praṇayama techniques • Praṇayama ratios: how to practice, development and teach different breathing ratios How to practice and teach meditation (dhyana), including : • Different understandings of meditation: How to create and develop meditation practices • Meditation techniques: their practice, effects and how to teach them • Meditation objects: fundamentals of how to choose them How to practice yoga in daily life or ”off the mat”, including • In depth learning of Patañjali’s Yogasutra. This is the traditional main presentation of how to live the path of yoga. • Overview of the Yoga teachings on navigating difficult life situations Personal Transformation, The Foundation of Teaching. Obviously, a lot of information is presented over the course of the training, but the emphasis is always how to apply the information and how to facilitate the experiences. Yoga is not informational. Yoga is experiential, it must be done, practiced and experienced to be understood and to have an effect on us and thus to change us. The UYLS’s training emphasizes the practical application of yoga and its tools. Pundit Radheshyam Mishra ERYT 500, 30000 plus Hours Teaching Experience with half a million people in 44 countries With 23 years of extensive Yoga teaching experience, Pundit Radheshyam Mishra has a vast and deep know-how of Indian cultural traditions. A man with deep urge to serve humanity and man-kind, Pundit Ji went to various places and gurus in search of a true path in life. He has spent his early years studying Indian classical music, Indian Ritual Traditions, Indian Astrology and Ayurveda, Tantra tradition and Hath Yoga.
