I am Yesenia Ezell, and I am eager to continue my journey in teaching and learning in a new
location with familiar principles.
Working with various peers and mentors in different settings has been very valuable to me. It
has instilled the true importance of teamwork. During my time at the Florida State University, I
learned that great schools are learning communities where common goals and virtues create a
cooperative flow of energy. Volunteering and working in the public school system, I have seen
initiatives of success for all students achieved through accountability and togetherness.
Cooperative learning is very impactful for adults and children alike.
Instructing diverse groups of students is filled with learning opportunities. I always strive to
create a communal and disciplined learning environment, using differentiated instruction to
empower every student. A structured classroom with a creative flow of strategies leads to
student engagement and deeper levels of understanding. Analyzing student data through
formative, diagnostic, and growth monitoring assessments are great tools to guide instruction.
Education is exciting with the energy of constant discovery. I belong in a school system that
encourages this excitement with unique quality based in excellence and integrity. I look forward
to relocating to California this year and joining a diverse team of educators that reach out to an
equally diverse group of students. Thank you for your time.
