DEERS/RAPIDS: Military Identification Cards & Eligibility Criteria

2. 1. Beneficiaries must have a valid ID card to access military bases and benefits such as medical and dental. 2. The ID card states on the back, in the “Medical” block, whether you are eligible for medical care from military or civilian sources. 3. Each family member’s eligibility must be updated separately when changes occur. 4. Any changes that impact you or your family (e.g., marriage, birth, divorce, death) need to be reported to DEERS so that eligibility can start or stop under DoD and Service guidance.
