The A-Level Mathematics course at Welling School is split into two years. Year 12 covers three units: Core 1 (algebra, functions, calculus), Core 2 (extending Core 1 topics), and Statistics 1 (probability, distributions). Year 13 covers three more advanced units: Core 3, Core 4, and an applications unit. Students take exams in January and May of Year 12. Over the summer, students must complete homework tasks to prepare for Year 12, which must be brought to the first lesson. Additional resources will be available on the school's Year 12 math blog. Students are expected to have achieved a Grade A or A* in GCSE Mathematics to begin the AS course.
