This document summarizes the 5 subjects and 2 labs in the first semester of a BS in Computer Engineering degree. The subjects are: 1) Applied Physics, 2) Electric Circuits Analysis (ECA), 3) Calculus and Analytical Geometry, 4) English Grammar and Composition, and 5) Pakistan Studies. The 2 labs are: 1) Applied Physics Lab and 2) ECA Lab.

2. Applied physics is the application of the science of physics to helping
human beings and solving their problems. It differs from engineering because
engineers solve well-defined problems. Applied physicists use physics or
conduct physics research to develop new technologies or solve engineering
problems.

3. Circuit analysis is the process of finding all the currents and voltages in a
network of connected components. We look at the basic elements used to
build circuits, and find out what happens when elements are connected
together into a circuit.

4. An Introduction to Analytic Geometry and Calculus covers the basic concepts
of analytic geometry and the elementary operations of calculus. Any book is
composed of 14 chapters and begins with an overview of the fundamental
relations of the coordinate system. The next chapters deal with the
fundamentals of straight line, nonlinear equations and graphs, functions and
limits, and derivatives. These topics are followed by a discussion of some
applications of previously covered mathematical subjects. This text also
considers the fundamentals of the integrals, trigonometric functions,
exponential and logarithm functions, and methods of integration. The final
chapters look into the concepts of parametric equations, polar coordinates,
and infinite series. This book will prove useful to mathematicians and
undergraduate and graduate mathematics students.

6. Pakistan studies curriculum (Urdu: ‫پاکستان‬ ‫‬مطالعہ‬‬Muṭāla e-Pākistān) is
the name[1][2] of a curriculum of academic research and study that
encompasses the culture, demographics, geography, history,
and politics of Pakistan. The subject is widely researched in and outside the
country. Several universities in Pakistan have departments and research centers
dedicated to the subject, whereas many independent research institutes carry
out multidisciplinary research on Pakistan Studies. There are also a number
of international organizations that are engaged in collaborative teaching,
research, and exchange activities on the subject.
