Project
Programs
The nonprofit Wounded Warrior Project was formed in an effort to
foster the most well-adjusted generation of wounded service
members in the country’s history. To this end, the organization has
enacted and supports many programs, including the Combat
Stress Recovery Program (CSRP), physical health and wellness
programs, and economic empowerment initiatives.
4. Wounded
Warrior
Project
Programs
The CSRP addresses the mental health needs of returning
veterans through a two-pronged approach: encouraging warriors
to define their “new normal” and set goals based on that definition
and helping them to use mental health resources to process their
experiences.
5. Wounded
Warrior
Project
Programs
The organization’s physical health and wellness programs focus on
sports, fitness, and nutrition to promote overall health for
veterans. One such initiative is the Soldier Ride program, which
encourages recovery through cycling.
6. Wounded
Warrior
Project
Programs
The Wounded Warrior Project envisions a generation of veterans
who have long-term financial stability. By offering numerous
resources, including IT training and higher education programs,
the organization’s economic empowerment initiatives seek to help
veterans avoid chronic under- or unemployment .
