The Building Healthy Military Communities pilot aims to better understand challenges faced by geographically dispersed service members and their families that may impact readiness, resiliency, and well-being. The Department of Defense will conduct a needs assessment in seven pilot states to identify resource gaps. A strategic plan will then be developed and three key interventions implemented: appointing a state coordinator, an information campaign, and using mobile health technologies. The pilot will evaluate these interventions to track their impact on outcomes like readiness and quality of life.
