The Building Healthy Military Communities pilot aims to better understand challenges faced by geographically dispersed service members and their families that may impact readiness, resiliency, and well-being. The Department of Defense will conduct a needs assessment in seven pilot states to identify resource gaps. A strategic plan will then be developed and implemented for each state, utilizing three key interventions: appointing a state coordinator, an information campaign, and mobile health technologies. The pilot will evaluate these interventions to assess their impact on addressing needs and closing gaps in support of total force fitness.
