Over 870 million people worldwide are undernourished, making hunger the number one global health risk. Hunger is defined as the uneasy sensation of lacking food and the scarcity of food in a country. There are two main types of malnutrition: protein energy malnutrition, which is the most lethal form due to lacking calories and protein; and micronutrient deficiencies, where lacking vitamins and minerals prevents healthy growth. A survey found that over 60% of the world's 925 million hungry live in Asia and the Pacific, while over 25% live in Sub-Saharan Africa.
