The Monastery of Horezu in southern Romania was founded in 1690 and is known for its architectural purity and rich sculptural details, representing the best example of the Brancovian Style. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1993. The Danube Delta, located in both Romania and Ukraine where the Danube River flows into the Black Sea, is Europe's largest and best preserved river delta. Most of the delta is in Romania with another large portion in Ukraine. It was also designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1991.
