• Results added as a new layer – in red style. Below we see original layer also enabled in green
Pitney Bowes | SSA Overview | April, 2015 12
13. Data Binding (Analyst only)
Data binding is where a non-spatial table can be linked to a spatial one
• Connections to non-spatial tables are added in Spectrum Management Console
• Admins in Analyst can then associate these with spatial tables in Analyst using a join column
• End users see a more information link to view associated information
• For example click a property boundary and see associated information on

16. Key Differences
Spectrum Spatial Analyst
• Deployed on premise
• Uses Spectrum Platform security
APIs
• Spectrum Management Console
is used to manage users and
roles
• Spectrum map loader allows
creation of named resources but
does not upload data
• Named resources pointing to
local spatial RDBMS or TAB files
can be created by the map
loader
Stratus
• Deployed as a SaaS
• Uses SaaS security
infrastructure APIs and pb.com
for authentication
• SaaS Account Management
application to create and
manage roles and add users to
them
• Stratus Map loader uploads TAB
files which are then processed
into the backend database

64-bit system; 32-bit systems are not supported.
• Disk Space: Spectrum Spatial Analyst will use 1GB of system space for
installer package and installation.
• Memory: Spectrum Spatial Analyst applications will use minimum of 3GB
RAM. Please make sure the server on which Analyst is installed has enough
RAM to run other processes, including Windows.
• CPUs: We recommend a minimum of 4 CPU cores
• Note that Analyst installs 3 services (Admin, locate service, and the Analyst
end-user app).

Map Publishing: Administrators can publish maps created in MapInfo Professional
Address Searching – International address search capability (no need to upload data)
Find Nearest
Spatial Query: Users can search and display data within a spatial area they draw; and Attribute Query: Users can search and display data using filter criteria
Wildcard search can be enabled for customers uploaded address data
Download address search logs
Access basic Analyst usage logs
Draw lines and polygons, and measure distance
Bing maps (Roads, Aerial & Hybrid) and OSM (Open Street Maps) available out of the box
Spectrum Spatial Analyst Users can:
Select any visible map layer to query
Query within current map view or draw polygon to query within or All data
View results in a tabular grid (paged display of results)
Select a row on table and highlight feature on map
Export the query results to a CSV file (all pages or a single page)
Sort results (ascending or descending) by clicking any column in the table
Find Nearest based on a location
View information using map marker callouts
Draw lines, measure distance and polygon areas
Print to PDF using WYSIWYG printing or to a specific scale
Using the Analyst Admin Console, administrators can:
Create map configurations that include any combination of maps, base maps and end user functionality
Define which layers can be searched via find nearest
Manage queries:
Enable or disable spatial query for specific map configurations
Define the underlying queries and criteria available to end users.
Create multiple queries for a table (e.g. one for data range query, one for searching on a text field)
Define how user input is made (e.g. type or pick a value)
Assign permissions to Analyst roles on Map Configurations, Find Nearest and Query Templates
Using Spectrum Management Console, administrators can:
Support authenticated access by
Adding any number of custom roles for use by Analyst (any role starting with the word analyst is presented in Admin Console to assign permissions on)
Adding users and assigning users to any roles including Analyst roles
Support guest access by
Specifying a guest user and role called AnalystGuestRole
Anyone browsing to Analyst will be signed-in as the guest user without logging in and can see maps that the guest role has permission for.
Once in, Analyst users can optionally click to sign in as themselves to see secured data.
Give other users the administrator role allowing them to use the Spatial Analyst Admin Console and to Upload Data
