This document summarizes a workshop on gender stereotypes and prejudices. The workshop was led by teachers Aira Broka and Liga Grundsteine on March 13, 2013. Participants learned the difference between gender and sex, created posters against prejudices of age and gender, identified stereotypes and prejudices in cartoons, discussed how gender stereotypes are portrayed in media and constructed, modeled "ideal" men and women as portrayed in magazines, and made their own posters or videos promoting equality and countering stereotypes. The goal of the workshop was to help participants better understand gender issues and challenge common prejudices.
