Latvia is a low-lying country situated on the Baltic coast with large forests that supply timber and paper industries. The population is 59% Latvian and 29% Russian, with over a third living in the capital city of Riga. Latvia has a culturally rich population consisting of Latvians as well as Russians, Belarusians, Poles, Ukrainians, Lithuanians, Estonians, Jews, Roma, Germans and other nationalities. Classical Latvians are considered to have blonde hair and blue eyes, and to be hard-working, modest, and not seeking attention. The people of Latvia respect family values and nature while also being rather reserved but tolerant of other cultures.
