A Glass Ceiling?
• Some women are still
discriminated against
in the workplace and
some companies pay
women less than men.
• This is referred to as a
“glass ceiling.”

• Many women in Muslim countries but also in
other poor countries have been denied
educations and abused regularly.
Women’s Rights and the UN
• Because of these issues, the UN has had special
committees investigate women’s rights and how
women are treated around the world.
• The UN then investigated other human rights
issues.
