She studied at Northlands School, a bilingual
school of the city of Olivos, in Buenos Aires.
She graduated with a degree in Economics
from the Pontifical Catholic University of
Argentina in 1995, and completed her
studies with a Master in the United States.
She attended La Gesta School in Oviedo, before her
family moved to Madrid, where she attended high
school at the Ramiro de Maeztu High School. She
completed a Bachelor’s Degree and a Licentiate’s
Degree in Journalism, at the Complutense University
of Madrid, and a Master’s Degree in Audiovisual
Journalism at the Institute for Studies in Audiovisual
Journalism.
In Jordan, she went to an English language
nursery school. After that she went to St
Andrew’s School in Berkshire, then to
Downe House. She went to Marlborough
College, in Wiltshire, and graduated in
2005, from the University of St Andrews
in Fife, Scotland, with an undergraduate
MA in the history of art.

She worked for large international finance
companies in Argentina, New York, and
Brussels. She also worked as a teacher of
English language to children and adults, and
of Mathematics for high school and
university students.
She worked for the Asturian daily newspaper La
Nueva España and for the newspaper ABC and the
news agency EFE. She worked in Mexico for the
newspaper Siglo 21. In Spain, she worked for the
economic channel Bloomberg before moving to the
news network CNN. In 2000, she moved to TVE. She
worked for the news channel 24 Horas. In 2002, she
worked for the news report programme Informe
Semanal and the daily morning news programme
Telediario Matinal on TVE 1. In August 2003, Letizia
worked for TVE daily evening news programme
Telediario 2. In 2000, Letizia reported from
Washington, D.C., on the presidential elections. In
September 2001, she broadcast live from Ground
Zero following the 9/11 attacks in New York and in
2003, she filed reports from Iraq following the war.
In 2002 she sent several reports from Galicia in
northern Spain following the ecological disaster
when the oil tanker Prestige sank.
In 2006 and 2007, she worked as an
accessory buyer with the clothing chain
Jigsaw. She also worked until January
2011 at Party Pieces; her role within the
family business included catalogue design
and production, marketing and
photography.
