2. Activity
This activity is going to be based in the
vocabulary related to the Winter clothing. The
most common pieces you may wear when it is
too cold outside. Also, at the end of the
presentation, we are going to have an activity
related to the topic, making use of the present
simple tense.
3. COAT
Coats typically have long sleeves and
are open down the front, closing by
means of buttons, zippers, hook-and-
loop fasteners, toggles, a belt, or a
combination of some of these.
4. JACKET
A jacket typically has sleeves, and
fastens in the front or slightly on
the side. A jacket is generally
lighter, tighter-fitting, and less
insulating than a coat, which is
outerwear.
5. SCARF
A scarf, is a piece of fabric worn
around the neck for warmth, sun
protection, cleanliness, fashion,
or religious reasons. They can be
made in a variety of different
materials such as wool,
cashmere, linen or cotton.
6. HAT
A hat is a cover for the head, it
can be in any form, soft or
structured, smart, casual or
practical but it has a shape given
to it, as opposed to a simple
wrap or scarf.
10. EARMUFFS
Earmuffs are objects designed to cover a
person's ears for hearing protection or
for warmth. They consist of a
thermoplastic or metal head-band, that
fits over the top or back of the head, and
a cushion or cup at each end, to cover
the external ears.
11. SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE
The simple present is a verb tense with two main uses. We use the simple present
tense when an action is happening right now, or when it happens regularly.
Depending on the person, the simple present tense is formed by using the root
form or by adding -s or -es to the end.
Examples:
• I feel great! Pauline loves pie. I’m sorry to hear that you’re sick.
• Pauline does not want to share the pie.
• Do you know how to bake a pie? How much does Pauline love pie?

With the vocabulary presented before, use the simple present to express ideas
about what are your relatives’ favorite pieces of clothing.
Example: My mom likes to wear colorful blousses
Then ask an elder to help you draw a picture in the Paint app, of these relatives
wearing their favorite pieces of clothing and leave the drawing in the comment
section down below.
