uma forte ligação entre a teoria e a prática.
A investigação desenvolvida no CIGEST desde 2011 expressa-se
em quatro grandes áreas:

3) Ergonomia e Factores Humanos
4) Ambiente e Sustentabilidade
Cada uma destas áreas subdivide-se em diferentes grupos,
integrando linhas de investigação diferenciadas, entre as quais
existem sinergias pontuais para dar resposta a determinados
projectos.

with different types of ecosystems. Natural ecosystems can support many ecosystem services at high
levels, but not food production. An intensive cropland produces food in abundance, but
comparatively little of the other services. A managed cropland can support a broad portfolio of
ecosystem services (Foley et al. 2005, with permission).
