William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, England in 1564 and married a pregnant Anne Hathaway in 1582. They had three children together - Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. Shakespeare died on April 23, 1623 at the age of 52 in Stratford-upon-Avon, and the World Book Day is celebrated annually on the anniversary of his death to encourage children worldwide to read.
