STATEMENT OF PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL BELIEFS
William F. Bladel, CEBS
Inherent in our professional lives is the need to develop a clear understanding of not only what we do
but also how we do it, why we do it and who we choose to do it with. We all have a choice in terms of
the companies we join, the culture we want to be part of or are willing to accept, the colleagues we are
able to trust and collaborate with and the stakeholders and clients we choose to serve.
Ultimately, those choices are influenced by Organizational Culture which needs to be driven by a
series of guiding principles contained within an aspirational and foundational Statement of Beliefs:
 We Believe that culture is one of the key elements of competitiveness and success since it is the
one component of any organization that can never be duplicated by a competitor;
• We Believe that culture must be the result of specific intent rather than the outgrowth of a random
hiring process;
 We Believe that organizational strength is the result of building a shared value system within an
environment of diversity;
 We Believe that values shape culture and culture drives behavior;
 We Believe that trust is a function of our personal and organizational values: Competency,
Character, Curiosity, Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, Contribution, Consistency,
Commitment, Courage and Caring;
 We Believe that high trust cultures create an environment in which the individual is respected,
appreciated, recognized and treated fairly;
 We Believe that the level and quality of service that an organization is able to provide is a direct
reflection of their own organizational culture;
 We Believe that an environment which encourages and supports continuous learning, collaboration
and creative interdependence is necessary in order to achieve sustained growth and profitability;
 We Believe that loyalty and commitment is obtained by providing employees with challenging and
meaningful work, the ability to provide for the financial well-being and security of their families,
the opportunity to make a positive contribution and the ability to share in the success of the
organization;
 We Believe that successful individuals and organizations understand the need to achieve balance
among personal, professional and social responsibilities.
