1. The study of Personal Development, Health and Physical
Activity is important in the primary school curriculum. It
helps children to develop an understanding of keeping an
active and healthy lifestyle, teaches the importance of
sensible decision making, road safety and about personal
relationships.

2.  Personal Identity
Students have the opportunity to learn about what makes them unique
and interesting.
 The human body
Students are able to understand what their body does and how it works.
 Human Sexuality
Students are taught about sexuality, what appropriate behaviour is and
about different family types.
 Interpersonal Relationships
Students learn how to interact with family, friends and strangers.

3.  Responsible Decision Making
Students become aware of how to make decisions based on a certain
situations, understanding about the consequences of their actions.
 Nutrition
Students are taught about healthy eating choices and what ‘sometimes’
foods are.
 Drug and Alcohol Awareness
Students are taught about peer pressure and drug and alcohol awareness.
