•PDHPE aims to enhance children’s development of their
knowledge, understanding and practical skills.

• Growth and development:
Understanding their body, personal identity, human sexuality,
changes within themselves, and values
• Games and sport
Practicing their non locomotor and locomotor skills, manipulative
skills, games, athletics, aquatics and playing the games.
• Gymnastics
Teaches children the elements of movement and composition.
• Dance
Teaches children the elements of dance, composition and dance
styles while also practicing their non locomotor and locomotor skills.

• Active Lifestyle
Teaches and encourages children to be active by showing them
different ways to be active. Focuses on the components of an
active lifestyle and the positive effects of participating in physical
activities.
• Personal Health Choices
Focuses on decision making skills, health and nutrition, drug
awareness, environmental health and preventive measures.
• Safe Living
Children learn about personal safety, knowing who to trust, their
safety network. Raising awareness in school, home, road and
water safety and informing them about emergency procedures.
• Interpersonal Relationship
Children learn about relationships, communication, families,
peers and groups.
