Faith Benner chose nursing because it offered more opportunities for patient contact and career flexibility compared to medical school, allowed her to treat patients holistically rather than just their disease, and enabled her to get to know patients individually and help make their days better. Her plan is to first work as a labor and delivery nurse after graduating with her BSN, and then eventually become a midwife, as she wants a career where she can work with patients, help people, and make a meaningful difference.
