As a nurse, she will respect each patient's individuality and provide the best possible care through continued education. Her goals are to take responsibility for any mistakes, work with the healthcare team, and advocate for patients through perseverance and critical thinking to help them get better.

I believe nursing is the care of the patient, the patient’s family and loved ones as a whole. Nurses
carry out the orders of the doctors, surgeons and all other members of the healthcare team with
compassion, respect, excellence, accountability, creativity, honesty, unity and perseverance.
I believe that client care varies from one to the other as they are each individual. I will respect
the feelings, beliefs, religion and customs of each client without judgement.
I will provide nursing care to the best of my ability. There is always room to learn in nursing and
patient care is continually evolving through evidence based education. I promise to continue my
education throughout my nursing career so that I may stay up to day with the latest in patient
care in order to provide my clients with the best care possible.
As a nurse I feel that being held accountable, being honest and creative are very valuable traits.
Nurses are human and are capable of making mistakes. What matters is what happens when
those mistakes are made. I promise that I would open up and handle the mistakes as soon as it is
noticed. I will take responsibility and do what it takes to correct the mistake.
I will respectfully work with all other members of the healthcare team to promote the best care
possible. As a nursing student, I see unity in the hospital environment with regards to many
different units caring for the same patient. It takes everyone to work together to care for the
patient and give them the best possible care.
Nurses are patient advocates as well as all other titles, traits and characteristics. In order to
advocate for patients I will be persistent. Perseverance is not giving up on a patient, thinking
outside the box and coming up with other ideas. This is where critical thinking comes in and
knowing that the medical field is not black and white. Knowing that the nursing intervention for
one diagnosis may work for another patient’s symptom for a different diagnosis.
Nurses are one of the most trusted professionals in the world. If a patient loses hope, they can
turn to the nurse for guidance and motivation to help them get better. Nurses help patients to get
to the end result, which is getting better and this is my mission!
