Why do we use a can CASE IN AUtomotive Testing
1. We have too many Protocols like
CAN,LIN, Flexray, To validate
protocol functionality we need to
connect to it PC.
1. But in PC, we don't have any
protocols inbuilt
1. Hence, we are using this CANCASE &
connecting it externally to
computer for Testing.
So...this is the main purpose..

The hardware(CANCASE) is basically ,a protocol data converter which converts from
CAN Protocol
format
USB Format
Suppose, CAN signals are getting transmitted in CAN standard voltage level
from ECU. If it's directly transmitted to PC, PC can’t understand this
format.because it's not a readable format.so we should have a protocol
format converter that will convert from CAN protocol format to PC
understandable format(i.e, USB format).
Question? Which tool in PC transmits USB Format

ANs: CANALYZER/ CANOE
● Canalyzer is a tool, which transmits USB protocol voltage format, and again CAN case ,which
converts it into CAN protocol which converts it into CAN protocol voltage level format.
● If the USB protocol format is directly fed into ECU, ECU can’t able to understand it.
● Canalyzer is a software tool, which is used for analysis and simulation of network
communication.
