18. Cheese is found!
Each morning, our four characters race
through the maze, eager to enjoy their
cheese.
19.
20. Lifestyle of Hem and Haw
• Wake a little later
• Dress a little slower
• Walk to Cheese
• Secure
• Comfortable
22. The Little People Attitude
• Every night, they would return home full of cheese.
• Every morning, they would confidently return for more.
23. One morning, there was no cheese. The
mice weren’t surprised.
They are prepared and know what to do.
24. Cheese to No Cheese ( Cheese Station “C”)
Sniff and Scurry
• They did not overanalysed things.
25. Cheese to No Cheese ( Cheese Station “C”)
Hem and Haw
• They were not paying attention to the changes.
• They were unprepared for what they found.
• What no cheese!
26. “Who Moved My Cheese?”
“It’s not fair!!’
They spent a long time trying to decide what to do.
They keep on looking to see if the cheese was really
gone.

31. Hem analyzed “Why did they do this to me?”.“Why did they do this to me?”.
Haw said, “By the way, where is Sniff and Scurry?“By the way, where is Sniff and Scurry?
Do you think they know something we don’t?”Do you think they know something we don’t?”
32. Hem “What would they know?
They’re just simple mice.
They just respond to what happens.
We are smarter than mice!”
37. “I realized that no one will put
yesterday’s cheese back”.
“What if there is no cheese out
there?
And if there is, what if you don’t
know where to find it?”
38. Haw laughed and announced
“IT’S MAZE TIME!”
but before he left, he wrote on the
wall….

40. Meanwhile, Sniff & Scurry went farther into the
maze until they found Cheese Station N.
They found a great supply of New Cheese!
41. Then, Haw stuck his head out and
peered anxiously into the maze.
He thought about how he’d gotten
himself into this cheeseless situation.
He went to the maze very anxious.

43. When You Stop Being Afraid You Feel
Good!
• Haw was loosing his physical strength.
• Maze was full of danger and yet he took it as
an adventure.
• He started to enjoy himself in the maze more
and more.
44. When You Stop Being Afraid You Feel
Good!
“ Why do I feel so good?” he wondered. “I
don’t have any cheese and I don’t know
where I am going.”
He realized he had held captive by his own
fear.
45. Haw now realized that the change
probably would not have taken him by
surprise if he had been watching what
was happening all along and if he had
anticipated change.
He stopped & wrote on the wall:
46. Smell The CheeseSmell The Cheese

47. Haw wondered if Hem had moved on,
or if he was still paralyzed by his own
fears.
Then, Haw remembered the times
when he had felt his best in the Maze.
It was when he was moving along. He
wrote:

49. As Haw started running down the dark
corridor, he was letting go & trusting
what lay ahead for him, even though he
did not know exactly what it was.
To his surprise, Haw started to enjoy
himself more & more.
50. When You MoveWhen You Move

51. To make things better, Haw started to dream and
paint a picture in his mind again.
He saw himself sitting in a middle of a pile of all his
favorite cheeses – from Cheddar to Brie!
He wrote…
53. Sometimes later, Haw did not find any cheese,
He even thought of turning around to Cheese
Station C.
He wrote on the wall, knowing it was as
much a reminder to himself but
also a marking for his friend Hem,
hopefully….

55. Haw made his way back to Cheese Station C to offer
Hem bits of New Cheese but was turned down.
Hem wanted his own Cheese back.
56. Hem appreciated his friend’s gesture but said “I
want my own Cheese back and I’m not going to
change until I get what I want.”

58. Haw realized again, that what you are afraid of
is never as bad as what you imagine.
The fear you let build up in your mind is worse
than the situation that actually exists.
He realizes it was natural for change to
continually occur, whether you expect it or
not.
59. Change could surprise you only if you
didn’t expect it & weren’t looking for it.
When he realized he had changed his
beliefs, he paused to write on the wall:
60. Old Beliefs Do NotOld Beliefs Do Not

61. Haw now realized that his new beliefs
were encouraging him to behave in a new
way.
He was behaving differently from the way
he had when he had kept returning to the
same cheeseless station.
It all depends on what you choose to
believe.

63. Haw just hoped he was heading in the right
direction.
He thought about the possibility that Hem
would read The Handwriting On The Wall
& find his way.
He wrote on the wall what he had been
thinking about for some time:

65. Haw realized that change could lead to something
better.
He raced through the maze with greater strength
and agility.
66. He proceeded along a corridor where he found New Station
N where he saw the greatest supply of Cheese he had ever
seen.
Sniff & Scurry welcomed him.
““Hooray for Change!”Hooray for Change!”
67. He drew a large piece of cheese
around all the insights he had
become aware of….

69. Then, Haw heard sounds of movement.
As the noise grew louder, he realized that someone
is coming.
Could it be that Hem was arriving?
70. Haw said a little prayer and hoped – as he had many
times before – that maybe, at last, his friend was
finally able to…
72. Looking Back
• Cheese hadn’t actually disappeared overnight
• Smaller and smaller
• Old and moldy
• Should have anticipated change
73. Prepare to re-enter the Maze
or
Wait until they put the Cheese
back?
Choices
74. Back In The Maze (Haw)
• A little Cheese here and there
• Confusing
• Two steps forward, one step backward
• Not easier – but better than cheeseless situation
75. Fear and Anxiety
• What if there is no other Cheese in the maze?
• What if I am unable to find Cheese?
• Why didn’t I get up and move with the Cheese
sooner?
76. Haw had learned something from Sniff and Scurry.
They kept life simple.
They didn’t overanalyze
or
overcomplicate things.
When the situation changed and the Cheese had been moved, they
moved with the Cheese.
77. Haw also realized that:
•There is always new cheese out there whether
you recognize it at the time or not.
•You are rewarded with it when you go past your
fear.
78. He also realized that:
•Fear should be respected as it keeps you out of
real danger.
•Change has turned out to be a blessing in
disguise as it led him to find better cheese.
79. Haw thought about going back to Cheese Station
C to see Hem.
Hem had to find his own way.
No one else could do it for him.
He should see the advantage of changing himself.
80. Haw thought about going back to Cheese Station

81. Haw’s Wisdom
• “Sometimes things change and they are never the
same again. This looks like one of those times.
• That’s life! Life moves on.
• And so should we.”
82. New Cheese
As Haw enjoyed the New Cheese, he
reflected on what he had learned
Held on to illusion of Cheese when it was
no longer there
Learned to laugh at his own folly
You can let go and quickly move on
83. And Haw Learned
• Change with the situation
• Envision success
• Learn from mistakes and use them
to plan for the future

93. Most important aspect is that you have the power to change YOU.
Your attitude and approach to change will make all the difference.
Don’t let change control you.

Each of us has our own idea of what Cheese is, and we pursue it because we believe it makes us happy. If we get it, we often become attached to it. And if we lose it, or it’s taken away, it can be traumatic.
The maze was a labyrinth of corridors and chambers, some containing delicious cheese. But there are also dark corners and blind alleys leading to nowhere
Sniff would smell the general direction of cheese and Scurry would race ahead
It made life in the maze more complicated and challenging
The mice will took off their running shoes, tied them together and hung around their necks- so they could get them quickly whenever they needed them. Then they enjoyed the cheese.
Hem and Haw do the same thing but after a while, they woke up later, dressed slower and walked to CSC. After all they know where the Cheese is now. As soon as they reached the station, they would hung up their pants, put away their shoes
And so every morning the mice and little people dressed their running gear and headed over Cheese Station C.
They were becoming comfortable and felt secure. They eventually move their homes closer to it and built a social life. They even decorated the walls with cheese and sayings as:
Sometimes they would invite friends to see and share the cheese, sometimes not. Every night the 2 little people would go home full of cheese and every morning, they confidently return for more. After a while, their confidence grew into arrogance of success. They soon become so comfortable that they are not noticing what is happening.
The mice did not overanalyze things. To them, the answer is simple. The situation in Station C has changed.
They both looked out of the maze. Sniff started lifting his nose and sniffed. Scurry took off running through the maze and Sniff followed as fast as he could. They were quickly off the in search of new cheese.
Hem and Haw went home that night hungry and discouraged. But before they left, Haw wrote on the wall:
The next day, Hem & Haw to Cheese Station C. But situation hadn’t changed. They didn’t know what to do and immobilized like statues.
The next day, Hem & Haw to Cheese Station C. But situation hadn’t changed. They didn’t know what to do and immobilized like statues.
Now, he felt it was just a question of time before he found a new cheese. In fact, he sensed he had already found what he was looking for. He smiled and realized….
Haw realized how far he had become since then. He knew it would be easy for him to slid back if he got too comfortable.
So each day, he inspected Cheese Station N, he would do everything to avoid being surprised by any unexpected change. He often went out into the maze and explored new areas to stay in touch what was happening around.
He had to admit that the biggest inhibitor to change lies within yourself, and that nothing gets better until you change.
