  5. 5. The Story <ul><li>Everyday the mice and little people spent time in the Maze looking for their own special cheese. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Possessing simple brains and good instincts, they searched for the hard nibbling cheese they liked, as mice often do. Using their complex brains filled with many beliefs and emotions, they searched for a different kind of Cheese – with a capital C – which they believed would make them feel happy and successful
  7. 7. <ul><li>Every morning, they each put on their jogging suits and running shoes, left their little homes, and raced out into the Maze looking for their favourite cheese. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Cheese Station C <ul><li>Sniff and Scurry continued to wake early every day and race through the Maze, always following the same route. </li></ul><ul><li>Hem and Haw also raced every morning, but after a while, changed their routine. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Cheese Station C <ul><li>Hem and Haw awoke each day a little later, dressed a little slower, and walked to Cheese Station C. </li></ul><ul><li>The little people eventually moved their homes closer to the station. They decorated the walls with sayings and even drew pictures of Cheese. </li></ul>
  10. 11. Cheese Station C <ul><li>Sniff and Scurry continued their routine. They inspect the area everyday to see if there had been any changes. </li></ul><ul><li>Hem and Haw enjoyed the cheese, sometimes with friends. </li></ul>
  11. 12. No Cheese! <ul><li>The mice were prepared since they had noticed the supply of cheese getting smaller each day. </li></ul><ul><li>They were quickly off in search of New Cheese. </li></ul>
  12. 13. No Cheese! <ul><li>The little people weren’t prepared for it. </li></ul><ul><li>They kept looking around Cheese Station C to see if the Cheese was really gone. </li></ul><ul><li>They ranted and raved at the injustice, and got depressed. </li></ul>
  13. 14. The More Important Your Cheese Is To You The More You Want To Hold On To It.
  14. 15. No Cheese! <ul><li>The little people still returned the next day, expecting to find Cheese. </li></ul><ul><li>Haw noticed that the mice are not around. He noticed that things have changed, and that maybe they need to change and do things differently. </li></ul>
  15. 16. “ They’re just mice. They respond to what happens. We’re little people. We’re smarter than mice. We should be able to figure this out.”
  16. 17. Back in the Maze… <ul><li>Sniff and Scurry were already farther into the Maze. </li></ul><ul><li>They found Cheese Station N! </li></ul>
  17. 18. <ul><li>Hem and Haw were growing weak from hunger and stress. </li></ul><ul><li>Haw was getting tired of just waiting for their situation to improve. </li></ul><ul><li>“ They’re never going to put yesterday’s Cheese back. It’s time to find New Cheese.” </li></ul>
  18. 20. <ul><li>Haw jogged slowly into the unknown. He worried that he might’ve waited too long in Cheese Station C. </li></ul>
  19. 21. <ul><li>Haw realized that Cheese had not disappeared overnight. </li></ul><ul><li>The Cheese had been getting smaller, and what was left had grown old. </li></ul><ul><li>Haw now realized that he should’ve anticipated change. </li></ul>
  20. 22. <ul><li>Smell The Cheese Often </li></ul><ul><li>So You Know </li></ul><ul><li>When It Is Getting Old. </li></ul>
  21. 23. <ul><li>Haw came across a huge Cheese Station, but there was no cheese. </li></ul><ul><li>He wanted to just return to Hem, but he remembered that he felt his best in the Maze when he was moving along. </li></ul>
  22. 24. Movement In A New Direction Helps You Find New Cheese
  23. 25. When You Stop Being Afraid, You Feel Good!
  24. 26. <ul><li>He realized that his fears were making things worse. </li></ul><ul><li>He had been held captive by his own fear. </li></ul>
  25. 27. Imagining Yourself Enjoying Your New Cheese Leads You To It.
  26. 28. <ul><li>Haw spotted another Cheese Station with little pieces of New Cheese near the entrance. He ate some of it and put some in his pocket to have later and perhaps share with Hem. </li></ul><ul><li>He found the Cheese Station empty, to his dismay. </li></ul><ul><li>He realized that if he had moved sooner, he would very likely have found a good deal of New Cheese. </li></ul><ul><li>Haw decided to go back and see if Hem was ready to join him. </li></ul>
  27. 30. Back in Cheese Station C <ul><li>Haw offered Hem some New Cheese, but Hem refused. </li></ul><ul><li>“ I don’t think I would like New Cheese. It’s not what I’m used to. I want my own Cheese back and I’m not going to change until I get what I want.” </li></ul>
  28. 31. <ul><li>Haw realized that what you are afraid of is never as bad as what you imagine. </li></ul><ul><li>He’d been so afraid of never finding New Cheese that he didn’t even want to start looking. </li></ul>It Is Safer To Search In The Maze Than Remain In A Cheeseless Situation
  29. 32. <ul><li>Haw realized it was natural for change to continually occur, whether you expect it or not. </li></ul><ul><li>He realized he had changed his beliefs. </li></ul>Old Beliefs Do Not Lead You To New Cheese
  30. 33. <ul><li>When You See That </li></ul><ul><li>You Can Find And </li></ul><ul><li>Enjoy New Cheese </li></ul><ul><li>You Change Course. </li></ul><ul><li>Haw knew that when you change what you believe, you change what you do. </li></ul>
  31. 34. Noticing Small Changes Early Helps You Adapt To The Bigger Changes That Are To Come.
  32. 36. The Handwriting on the Wall <ul><li>Change Happens. (They keep moving the cheese.) </li></ul><ul><li>Anticipate Change. (Get ready for they cheese to move.) </li></ul><ul><li>Monitor Change. (Smell the cheese often so you know when it is getting old.) </li></ul><ul><li>Adapt to Change Quickly. (The quicker you let go of old cheese, the sooner you can enjoy new cheese.) </li></ul>
