When I look through the Social Science lens, as it relates to air pollution, I think of human behavior and ask the questions; what actions or inactions do humans take to contribute to, or reduce air pollution? Through the Natural Science lens, one could make a conclusion based on actual facts and data collected through scientific experiments and testing. After viewing air pollution through both lenses, I believe human behavior is the direct result of air pollution, therefore studying the topic through both lenses, seems the only logical choice. Through the Natural Science lens, we can study the root cause and consequences of air pollution. Through the Social Science lens, we can mitigate the negative effects of air pollution by studying the human behavior directly related to the cause, and suggest alternatives. In this case, the two lenses, in a sense, cross-promote and collaborate with each other. I do not believe my view on the topic has changed after looking through the two lenses, but I definitely have a better understanding of how the two are related and provoke thought. I am currently working on the Lens Chart, could you tell me if this is a project that is turned in? .

The literature that I researched is the "Scientific production on indoor air quality environments used for physical exercise and sports practice: Bilbliometric analysis", which is published through Journals of Environment Management.
The overall objective of the study was to investigate and analyze air production for indoor sport facilities on practice and physical exercise. This evaluation was conducted through bibliometrics (analyzing verified scientific evaluated sources) to create a substantial result. Ensuring that each scientific based reference was relevant and met the overall criteria. The criteria consisted of being a original article, had to focus on indoor air pollution and the affects of overall physical exercise and written in full text English. All other articles were excluded.
After the screening was complete, the results reveal only 1,281 articles, 39 were full text English as stated by the criteria, ultimately resulting in only 34 articles being used for the final results. Additionally, of the 34 articles it was further broken down that 21 of the 34 were air monitoring focused articles while the remaining articles focused on either air quality and or the affects on physical exercise.
The analysis concluded that even with only 34 included articles there's a increase in research and analysis on the effects of air pollution and due to the various elements in the air that directly impact sports and physical exercise overall. I feel this method of this study is appropriate because it focused on analyzing air pollution and physical exercise through means of verified scientific evaluations previously conducted and limited the criteria to narrow it down to the exact topic. Finally, in adding my own opinion I do believe that limiting the number of articles due to the criteria does provide credibility but providing even a personal scientific evaluation of their own would have further qualified their evaluation and analysis.

Introduction
In my selection of an article which fits the assignment criteria I zeroed down to a peer-reviewed article entitled “Impact of social media on student’s performance”. The article was authored in 2013 by Sara Selvaraj of Vels University. This work posits to explain the issue being addressed in the research article, the purpose of the work, provide a summary of the research questions therein, describe both the null and alternative hypothesis used by the author, show application of the conceptual framework, and discuss the methodology used and the limitation of the article.
Describe the problem or issue addressed.
The main issue addressed in the article is the consequences of students using social networking platforms. This means the impact that social networking has on the education system. As evident from the literature part of the work social networking sites are not meant to have a negative effect on the education system. However, it has turned out that there is an array of negative effects of using social networking sites by students. One of these problems is prompted by social networking site addiction. Students with access to the internet and have social media networking sites accounts spend a significant time of their day on these sites. The impact of that is the students are left with little or no time for their personal studies hence cannot submit things like assignments in a timely fashion (Selvaraj, 2013). Secondly, the students are poised to fail their examinations or experience a decline in their academic scores. The article attempts to show the severity of this problem and provide proof that indeed the problems exist.
Describe the purpose or intent of the study.
The article has 3 main objectives or intents. The first objective is to determine the influence of various social networking sites on student’s academic performance. Young children or generation is one of the most affected by social networking sites. The study tries to investigate the difference between the performance of the students before starting to use the sites and the performance after starting to use the sites. The second objective of the study is to investigate how the education system in totality has been impacted by social networking sites. This objective arises from the knowledge that not only student use the sites. The websites are used nearly by everyone in the sector irrespective of age, position and professional. This use must have an effect and it’s this impact that the work tries to unravel. The third objective of the study is to determine the motivation behind the use of social networking sites. These are the uses which are prompting individuals to sign up of social media accounts. The work also tries to discover the uses of the si.
Theory of Planned Behavior
The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) proposes that behavioral intention, which is the best predictor of actual behavior, is influenced by three factors: attitude toward the behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. More favorable attitudes, more positive social pressure, and greater perceived control over the behavior strengthens one's intention to perform that behavior. While intention predicts behavior, other factors can still interfere with actually performing the intended behavior. The TPB is useful for marketers and health researchers to predict behaviors and develop strategies. Some critics argue the subjective norm component needs improvement or that the three factors should interact rather than be separate models.

When sociologists apply the sociological perspective and begin to ask questions, no topic is off limits. Every aspect of human behavior is a source of possible investigation. Sociologists question the world that humans have created and live in. They notice patterns of behavior as people move through that world. Using sociological methods and systematic research within the framework of the scientific method and a scholarly interpretive perspective, sociologists have discovered workplace patterns that have transformed industries, family patterns that have enlightened family members, and education patterns that have aided structural changes in classrooms.

The Scientific Method
Sociologists make use of tried and true methods of research, such as experiments, surveys, and field research. But humans and their social interactions are so diverse that these interactions can seem impossible to chart or explain. It might seem that science is about discoveries and chemical reactions or about proving ideas right or wrong rather than about exploring the nuances of human behavior.
However, this is exactly why scientific models work for studying human behavior. A scientific process of research establishes parameters that help make sure results are objective and accurate. Scientific methods provide limitations and boundaries that focus a study and organize its results.
The scientific method involves developing and testing theories about the world based on empirical evidence. It is defined by its commitment to system.

Outside of the devastating destruction of the hurricane, the aftermath exacerbated the spread of cholera. Polluted water, sewage over flow, and the population relocated to living in close proximity contributed to the rapid spread of cholera. If left untreated cholera can be deadly. Proper sewage disposal and clean water is the best method to prevent the spread of this disease.
Roughly, 14,000 cases of cholera were reported after hurricane Matthew. The International Medical Corps provided aid in the treatment of cholera. "We also supported Haiti’s Ministry of Public Health and Population’s (MSPP) oral cholera vaccination campaign, through which approximately 729,000 people were vaccinated. We provided operational support for the campaign, including payment and logistics for vaccinators, monitoring and evaluation capacity. In addition, we are operating seven mobile medical units focused on reaching remote and isolated communities, traveling by foot, canoe, and any means necessary to deliver health care and vital relief supplies.In addition to our Emergency Response Team’s Hurricane Matthew activities, our Haiti Country Team continues to implement ongoing health, nutrition, and WASH programs in Nord, Nord-este, Artibonite, and Ouest departments.(IMC, 2017)."
Other organization such as the Red Cross, the World Health Organization, the U.S. Military, the PanAmerican Health Organization, and the Center for Disease Control, sent medical supplies, clear water, and monetary funds to contributed to rebuilding the country. The United European Nations sent similar resources. All of the above organizations responses were appropriate. Sending medical supplies and medical professionals to aid in protecting the population of Haiti was effective in slowing the infection rates. The loss of hospitals were offset by the monetary and military support deployed. Four years later Haiti is still rebuilding from this devastating disaster.

The article was authored in 2013 by Sara Selvaraj of Vels University. This work posits to explain the issue being addressed in the research article, the purpose of the work, provide a summary of the research questions therein, describe both the null and alternative hypothesis used by the author, show application of the conceptual framework, and discuss the methodology used and the limitation of the article.
Describe the problem or issue addressed.
The main issue addressed in the article is the consequences of students using social networking platforms. This means the impact that social networking has on the education system. As evident from the literature part of the work social networking sites are not meant to have a negative effect on the education system. However, it has turned out that there is an array of negative effects of using social networking sites by students. One of these problems is prompted by social networking site addiction. Students with access to the internet and have social media networking sites accounts spend a significant time of their day on these sites. The impact of that is the students are left with little or no time for their personal studies hence cannot submit things like assignments in a timely fashion (Selvaraj, 2013). Secondly, the students are poised to fail their examinations or experience a decline in their academic scores. The article attempts to show the severity of this problem and provide proof that indeed the problems exist.
Describe the purpose or intent of the study.
The article has 3 main objectives or intents. The first objective is to determine the influence of various social networking sites on student’s academic performance. Young children or generation is one of the most affected by social networking sites. The study tries to investigate the difference between the performance of the students before starting to use the sites and the performance after starting to use the sites. The second objective of the study is to investigate how the education system in totality has been impacted by social networking sites. This objective arises from the knowledge that not only student use the sites. The websites are used nearly by everyone in the sector irrespective of age, position and professional. This use must have an effect and it’s this impact that the work tries to unravel. The third objective of the study is to determine the motivation behind the use of social networking sites. These are the uses which are prompting individuals to sign up of social media accounts. The work also tries to discover the uses of the si.
Theory of Planned Behavior
The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) proposes that behavioral intention, which is the best predictor of actual behavior, is influenced by three factors: attitude toward the behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. More favorable attitudes, more positive social pressure, and greater perceived control over the behavior strengthens one's intention to perform that behavior. While intention predicts behavior, other factors can still interfere with actually performing the intended behavior. The TPB is useful for marketers and health researchers to predict behaviors and develop strategies. Some critics argue the subjective norm component needs improvement or that the three factors should interact rather than be separate models.

It might seem that science is about discoveries and chemical reactions or about proving ideas right or wrong rather than about exploring the nuances of human behavior.
However, this is exactly why scientific models work for studying human behavior. A scientific process of research establishes parameters that help make sure results are objective and accurate. Scientific methods provide limitations and boundaries that focus a study and organize its results.
The scientific method involves developing and testing theories about the world based on empirical evidence. It is defined by its commitment to system.

Roughly, 14,000 cases of cholera were reported after hurricane Matthew. The International Medical Corps provided aid in the treatment of cholera. "We also supported Haiti’s Ministry of Public Health and Population’s (MSPP) oral cholera vaccination campaign, through which approximately 729,000 people were vaccinated. We provided operational support for the campaign, including payment and logistics for vaccinators, monitoring and evaluation capacity. In addition, we are operating seven mobile medical units focused on reaching remote and isolated communities, traveling by foot, canoe, and any means necessary to deliver health care and vital relief supplies.In addition to our Emergency Response Team’s Hurricane Matthew activities, our Haiti Country Team continues to implement ongoing health, nutrition, and WASH programs in Nord, Nord-este, Artibonite, and Ouest departments.(IMC, 2017)."
Other organization such as the Red Cross, the World Health Organization, the U.S. Military, the PanAmerican Health Organization, and the Center for Disease Control, sent medical supplies, clear water, and monetary funds to contributed to rebuilding the country. The United European Nations sent similar resources. All of the above organizations responses were appropriate. Sending medical supplies and medical professionals to aid in protecting the population of Haiti was effective in slowing the infection rates. The loss of hospitals were offset by the monetary and military support deployed. Four years later Haiti is still rebuilding from this devastating disaster.

When I look through the Social Science lens, as it relates to ai.docx
- 1. When I look through the Social Science lens, as it relates to air pollution, I think of human behavior and ask the questions; what actions or inactions do humans take to contribute to, or reduce air pollution? Through the Natural Science lens, one could make a conclusion based on actual facts and data collected through scientific experiments and testing. After viewing air pollution through both lenses, I believe human behavior is the direct result of air pollution, therefore studying the topic through both lenses, seems the only logical choice. Through the Natural Science lens, we can study the root cause and consequences of air pollution. Through the Social Science lens, we can mitigate the negative effects of air pollution by studying the human behavior directly related to the cause, and suggest alternatives. In this case, the two lenses, in a sense, cross-promote and collaborate with each other. I do not believe my view on the topic has changed after looking through the two lenses, but I definitely have a better understanding of how the two are related and provoke thought. I am currently working on the Lens Chart, could you tell me if this is a project that is turned in?
