speaks to the realities of the world for their
families. Share why it matters!
● Know & reflect your audience. What are they
talking about? Does your content speak to
them?
● Test your messaging. Organization speak
won’t work. Talk to people like people. Try a
pop culture angle.
Now that we know better, how do we DO better?
Wake up! We must expect to be lied to.
Hit em’ with the truth.
As communicators we have an obligation to
share the truth. Do it again, and ah

How to drown out the liars
Speak up, relentlessly!
CHECK ‘EM!
Create a nation of fact
checkers who are
ready to call out
misinformation.
STAY READY!
Normalize readiness,
resilience and humor
when faced with
nonsensical lies.
ENGAGE.
Maintain a stream of
communication with
your members.
Remember —
every comment, RT, like, and
share is a
sharing their fears, hopes,
and dreams.
They are trusting YOU
to tell them the truth.
Do it unapologetically.
