3. Introduction:
• God loves us in a special way!

• We need to live in certain special

• We need to learn to truly belong…

4. Do You Belong?
• Do you feel that you belong? We all should…!
• Jesus tells us we belong if we hear Him, i.e.
“do His will.” John 8:47; Mt. 7:21-ff; 17:5; 28:20
• If we “live in sin,” we do not belong to Him.
– We are dead spiritually speaking!

– Some common sins that people live in which
need to be stopped… Gossip, Cursing,
Smoking, Drinking, Lying,
fornication/adultery, Hatred, Pornography,
Gambling, Stealing, Coveting

5. We Belong To God!
• So serve Him faithfully! Joshua 24:15;
Psalm 2:11; Colossians 3:24
• Serve with gladness… Psalm 100:2
• Serve the Lord… Deuteronomy 10:12
– With fear… Hebrews 12:28
– Walk in all His ways… Matthew 28:20
– Love Him… John 14:15
– With all your heart, soul, mind, strength…

• Remember your duty to the One you
belong! Ecclesiastes 12:13

6. We Belong To Each Other!
• Generally… 1 Corinthians 3:21-23
• As God’s family in the church…
1 Timothy 3:15; Gal. 3:26-29
• We then need to serve each other!
– To love each other as Christ loved us…
John 13:34-35; Galatians 5:13
– To prefer one another (to excel in showing
respect to each other)… Romans 12:10
– Helping to bear burdens… Galatians 6:2

7. We Need To Serve Others
• As opportunity and ability permits.
Galatians 6:10
• We owe others some things!
– To love them! Romans 13:8; 1 John 4:19
– To be a good example to them. 2 Cor. 3:2-3
– To walk in wisdom toward those who are
outside the church. Col. 4:5-6
– To share with them the good news of Jesus
Christ. Mark 16:15-16
– To reveal to those who will listen the manifold
wisdom of God! Ephesians 3:10

8. We Need To Belong
Where We Worship!
• We are God’s family! Ephesians 3:15
• This is one place (when we meet) that we
have a grand fellowship together! Acts 2:42
• We need to belong where we worship and
grow in our relationships with each other
(Acts 2:44) so we can be of proper help.
Romans 12:13, 15, 21
• So we may flourish with God’s blessings…

9. Let Jesus Wash Away Your Sins!
• Come back to Him where you belong!

• What must I do to be saved? Acts 16:30

– Repent of sin. Acts 11:18
