Importance of Mom and Dad (Ex. 20:12).
 Treat relationship with significance.
 They have the greatest impact on our lives.

Don’t hurt others (Ex. 20:13, 16).
 Commands 6-9: Builds cohesive society.
 God places value on people.
 Golden Rule (Matt. 7:12; Lev. 19:18).
 Live in peace with others (Rom. 12:17-21).

Don’t hurt others (Ex. 20:13, 16).
 Protects reputation of people by others.
 Firm foundation of justice system (Deut. 17:6).
 Our speech (Eph. 4:15, 29-31; Gal. 5:15).

 Marriage: A sacred trust.

 We need to be people of our word.

 Protects the sanctity of property.

Control our thoughts (Ex. 20:17).
 Law of Moses was just as much about the heart as
the Law of Christ.
 Not only avoid sinful actions, but turn away from
evil thoughts that lead to those actions.
