“You are the Architect of your future”
What is BIM? Why it is Booming?
BIM Introduction:
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a smart 3D model-based method that
provide Architects, Engineers, and Construction (AEC) professionals with the
knowledge and resources they need to Plan, Design, Create, and Manage
Buildings and Infrastructure more efficiently.
Uses of BIM:
 Building and Infrastructure designs are Modelled in Revit and recorded.
In BIM, every aspect of a Building like Architecture (Walls, Doors,
Windows, Floor, Staircase) is Modelled.
 The model can be used for Research, Development of Design choices,
and Visualisations to help stakeholders envision the building before it is
completed.
 The Model is then used to create construction design documentation.
What is the process of BIM?
BIM allows for the development of intelligent data that can be used during a
building or infrastructure project's lifecycle.
1. Plan: By incorporating reality capture and real-world data to create
background models of the current built and natural environment, project
managers can better design their projects.
2. Design: Conceptual design, research, detailing, and documentation are
all carried out during this process. To inform scheduling and logistics, the
preconstruction process starts with BIM data.
3. Build: Fabrication starts using BIM specifications during this process.
To ensure optimal scheduling and performance, project construction
logistics are shared with trades and contractors.
4. Operate: The data from BIM is carried forward to the operations and
management of completed properties. BIM data can also be used for cost-
effective Renovation and successful Deconstruction in the future.

“You are the Architect of your future”
 Architecture: Throughout the project lifecycle, make better design
choices, increase building efficiency, and work more effectively.
 Civil: Improve predictability, efficiency, and profitability by introducing
smart, connected workflows.
 Construction: Connection project details from design to execution and
handover by digitising the construction site.
Why BIM Revit is Booming?
If you're a Civil engineer with a clear knowledge of Building Information
Modelling (BIM), you're in for a treat. Several studies estimate a "predicted
demand-supply gap of 44 million construction professionals in India" due to one
of the fastest growing economies and a booming construction industry helped
by recent budget.
According to a recent report, the government is looking into using BIM to
expedite construction projects. BIM's ability to regard time and cost as the
fourth and fifth dimensions in a 3D modelling architecture aligns with this
criterion.
Specific job responsibilities have developed from the in-demand BIM Managers
and BIM Designers to include specialist positions such as Structural BIM
Modeller, Revit-specific BIM Modellers, BIM Technicians and Draughtsman
(MEP i.e., Mechanical Electrical Plumbing), BIM Software Developer, BIM
Consultants, BIM Coaches, BIM Civil Designer, BIM Organizer — Civil 3D,
BIM 3D Civil Drafter, Civil Faculty, and BIM Civil Designer.
A Civil Engineer will place his or her profession at the forefront of the
construction industry in the future if he or she is well-versed in the industry's
changing demands.
