What isOrganic
Our definition of organic food is food which is produced using environmentally and
animal friendly farming methods on organic farms.
Organic farming:- All traditional farming is now considered to be " organic
farming .“
After the industrial revolution had introduced inorganic methods, most of which were
not well developed and had serious side effects, an organic movement began in
the 1940s as a reaction to agriculture's growing reliance on synthetic fertilizers
and pesticides .
Organic food has more of the antioxidant compounds linked to better health than
regular food, and lower levels of toxic metals and pesticides, according to the most
comprehensive scientific analysis to date.
HowitsParticipate
• Nutritional Value:- Consumption of organic foods may reduce exposure to
pesticide residues and antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
• Environmental Imp :-Organically grown and produced foods are to encourage
environmentally friendly farming and growth practices, cycling of natural
resources, and growing food without the need for harsh pesticides or chemical
fertilizers. This makes many organic crops more volatile.
Did you know?
• Eating organic fruits and vegetables could increase
your antioxidant intake by 20-40%.
• Organic strawberries have more nutrients and
antioxidants than their conventional counterparts.
• Organic tomatoes are 50% higher in vitamin C
content than conventional tomatoes.
Organic food is GMO-free:- Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) or
genetically engineered (GE) foods are plants or animals whose DNA has been
altered in ways that cannot occur in nature or in traditional crossbreeding, most
commonly in order to be resistant to pesticides or produce an insecticide.
Advantage& Disadvantage
Disadvantages :-
 Organic foods are very expensive as compared to non-organic foods.

 Another disadvantage of organic foods is the limited selection of organic products available in
some areas.
Advantages:-
 Organic foods help prevent certain diseases such as Cancer, stroke and other heart diseases.
  they have good taste and increased nutritious values as compared to non-organic foods
 Organic foods help you to control or even lose unnecessary weight.
