Messenger is an instant messaging service released by Facebook. However, unlike most text
messaging apps, Messenger can do a whole lot more than just send texts.
Facebook Messenger was launched in August 2011, after the acquisition of a group messaging
app called Beluga. Although it's owned and operated by Facebook, the app and website are
completely separate from Facebook.com.
With over 1.3 billion people using Messenger every month, your customers are there. There is a
growing expectation for businesses to be available and responsive on messaging channels. In
fact, 56% of people around the world would rather message a business than call customer
service.
Tip: You don't have to be on Facebook's website or even have a Facebook account, to use
Messenger. While the two are partially connected if you do have a Facebook account, you
don't have to have one in order to use Messenger.

TEXTS
You’ll see when your message is delivered to your customer or prospect's phone, plus when
they’ve seen it. This way, you can be sure your messages are going through like they’re
supposed to.
PHOTOS & VIDEOS
With a built-in camera, Messenger lets you snap and shoot moments as they happen. You
can even add drawings or text to personalize your photos. Send them to your customers,
prospects or post to your Messenger Story.
GROUPS
Using the interaction and responses, you can segment your customers or prospects into
various groups based on preferences. Allowing you to provide value and marketing messages
accordingly.

VIDEO & VOICE CALLS
Every company wants to grow, especially into offshore markets. Messenger allows your sales
team to place calls to customers and prospects abroad at low rates, and the video aspect
allow for remote conferencing/presentation activities.
VOICE MESSAGES
What if there's a change to your normal operation, or if your business has to navigate a PR
crisis? This might be an awesome opportunity for a heartfelt blurb where you can explain or
apologize to your customers and prospects.

with just a few taps.
