Because of the landscape and as there are no large wetland-like water bodies to store and conserve rainwater, all remaining water flows out of the region into Amarpur's lower plains. Residents of the hill are forced to rely on rainwater collected through their own efforts. However, Jampui is quickly becoming a popular tourist destination. The demand for water will increase as a result of the influx of tourists. That is why an urgent water conservation effort is required for this location.
