It will take three periods for the students to research and three periods for the students to prepare their results. Procedure: 1. Discuss with the students about animal migration. Discuss how animals migrate to find food and breeding grounds. 2. Tell the class they are going to research migration behaviors of different whales and how to identify different whales. 3. Divide the classroom into groups of 5 students and have each student in a group pick a different type of whale: a gray whale, a humpback whale, a blue whale, and a right whale and a bottlenose dolphin. 4. Tell the class that they are going to research the migration of whales in groups of 5 students. Each student will be a different species of whale.
