Those with limited ability to adapt or diversify their livelihoods face greater risks. 3) Without significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions along with adaptation efforts, climate change could lead to severe, widespread, and irreversible impacts on both human and natural systems by amplifying existing risks and creating new risks.
