A garden party was hosted by the Orrs in 1896 and was reported on in the Falkirk Herald newspaper. The party was held outdoors and was well attended by many guests who arrived via various forms of transportation. Entertainment included music provided by a local pipe band and outdoor games. Afternoon tea was served and there were several speeches given by important political guests, including the main speech given by Mr. Munro-Ferguson MP, as the party served as a political meeting.
