POSITION SUMMARY
This position exists to implement health promotion & disease prevention programs for a diverse
population, and coordinate services, staff, equipment and supplies for Employee Wellness and
Corporate Onsite Services. Must be energetic, professional and self-motivated, possess a
thorough knowledge of health & wellness, with excellent communication and strong motivational
skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities are cross-referenced to the hospital’s Pillars of Excellence and will be
transferred to the Performance Evaluation.
2. PEOPLE (20%)
1. Demonstrates ICARE Values with a passion for improving people’s health and well-being.
2. Coordinates staffing and work schedules under the direction of management for EWS and
Corporate Onsite programs, services and special events.
3. Participates in staff training including, but not limited to, wellness program development, in-
services and health screening instruction.
4. Assist and support other HMHS departments in any health and wellness initiatives.
5. Act as a dedicated and respected resource for all wellness-related inquiries to foster a
positive culture of health.
FINANCE (20%)
1. Responsible for timely reporting of participation, program/health outcomes, cost/benefit and
ROI. Maintain all databases and provide professional reports to management as requested.
2. Develops and distributes health-related communications and marketing materials
designed to maximize program engagement and promote healthy lifestyles.
3. Evaluate wellness programs and services based on participation, engagement, outcomes,
cost/benefit, ROI, efficiency and utilization.
QUALITY/SAFETY (20%)
1. Accurately document and monitor individual and group outcomes, program data, goals,
achievements and results.
2. Communicates staff needs to manager to ensure quality and customer service standards.
3. Follows all safety rules on the job.
SERVICE (20%)
1. Performs all skills, functions and responsibilities of a Wellness Coordinator, including
developing and implementing programs designed to promote health, reduce risk
factors and produce a positive ROI.
2. Coordinates and implements external corporate wellness programs and services, as
needed.
3. Performs a variety of health assessments, including metabolic, flexibility, body
composition, bone density, fitness testing; health screenings including height, weight,
waist girth, hip girth, blood pressure, and cholesterol or HbA1c via finger sticks.
4. Present information and lead discussions on various health & wellness topics in a
variety of settings: group, classroom and one-on-one.
5. Performs targeted interventions to engage employees to improve population health.
6. Implements the following wellness programs: wellness coaching, weight management,
tobacco cessation, diabetes management, stress management and various fitness-related
activities.
7. Demonstrates ServicePRIDE Standards.
GROWTH/INNOVATION (20%)
1. Supports management in achieving strategic goals established for the Employee Wellness
and Corporate Onsite Programs.
2. Coordinates internal resources to support staff growth and development.
3. Attend and provide input at weekly/monthly staff meetings.
4. Responsible for maintaining professional expertise and staying current with emerging health
and wellness trends
5. Demonstrates ServicePRIDE Standards.
6. Complete special projects, assignments and data analysis, as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Promotion, Health Science, Public Health, Exercise Science or
related field required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1-3 years of experience in Employee Wellness, Health Promotion, Exercise or a related field
required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
CHES and CPR certification required.
Wellness Coaching certification preferred.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
