Russian art nouveau architects of the 1890s to 1910s were decidedly romantic, concerned with the creation of new myths in symbolic forms. A new strain of the style emerged in architects’ commercial buildings with a rationalistic approach to function, prefiguring the 1920s. The pre‐revolutionary decade brought about the strengthening of neoclassicism.[1]

The Waunakee Community High School is considering changing its graduation honors system from recognizing a valedictorian and salutatorian to a laude system of summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude. Under the proposed system, students would earn recognition based on their cumulative GPA and number of advanced courses completed. The school committee is still discussing details but expects similar percentages of students would still be honored. Responses from students are mixed, with some supporting recognition for more students and others preferring to maintain valedictorian. A final decision will be made later in January after further review.
The Purple Sage - November
The Waunakee Community High School unveiled a new student information system called Infinite Campus at the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year. The system replaced the previous attendance system SASI and family communication site ParentConnect. It allows students to check grades and attendance online. While a big change, teachers and students have embraced Infinite Campus, though some aspects remain cumbersome. The school chose Infinite Campus over other options like PowerSchool and Skyward because it was found to have the best features, ease of use, and future enhancements.

California wine shipments to the US increased slightly by 1.1% in the first half of 2010, building on a 3.6% gain in 2009. Bottled wine imports rebounded with a 12.4% rise compared to a 1% decline in the first half of 2009. However, bulk wine imports fell 33% after tripling in 2009. Overall, combined shipments of California wines and imports grew modestly by 1.8% for the first half of the year as bottled imports increased but bulk imports declined.

Tarnowskie Góry owes its existence to mining in the 15th century when a peasant discovered a lump of silver-bearing ore. It grew into a major mining center in Upper Silesia in the 16th century under the rule of the Hohenzollerns. By the early 20th century, the city's ore deposits were depleted and mining ended. Today, Tarnowskie Góry's historic silver mine gives tours and it has numerous other attractions related to its mining history, including sculptures of miners and the Black Trout Adit. The annual Gwarki festival celebrates the city's mining heritage with cultural events, entertainment, and a grand parade.

The city is remarkably well preserved. Its streets are some of the best preserved historical townscape of Europe, with ensemble of outstanding period buildings of the Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neo-Classical and Art Nouveau period. - 2. Welcome to Slovakia, welcome to our region Our town Nové Mesto nad Váhom is in the heart of the region. Welcome to the central square. Is it not beautiful?
- 3. History of our town Our town Nové Mesto nad Váhom developed from a medieval settlement established at the crossroad of trade routes. The city was like other Slovak towns under attacks of Turks in 13th and 17th centuries.
- 4. The earliest recorded mention The first recorded mention dates back to 1253, when the king Bela IV granted freedom to the townsmen for their loyalty in the Mongol invasion.
- 5. The fortified Church of Nativity of Virgin Mary, 13th century, ranks among the most beautiful monuments of the region.
- 6. In the years 1414 - 1423 the church was rebuilt in Gothic style. Since 17th century its interior is in Baroque style.
- 7. The main altar of the Church of Nativity of Virgin Mary
- 8. This charming Madonna, the early 17th century, is– the patron of the church. Annually many pilgrimsrims from the near and distant surroundings com visit the place on 8 September. You can see it in the coat of arms of the town, too.
- 9. The Protestant church of 1787 with a tower attached in 1928.

- 14. Carpathian Mountains The nature in our region is beautiful all year long. Whenever you come to visit us you will be captivated by its charm. Just look at it.
- 15. Veľká Javorina Veľká Javorina 969.8 m - the highest hill of the White Carpathians on the border between Moravia and Slovakia
- 16. The river Váh The medieval town was situated near a ford across the river Váh.
- 17. Zelená voda resort In the holiday resort Zelená voda there is a lake that freezes every winter. In the summer lots of people from far away go swimming there. It is a very nice place for family trips.
- 18. Castles There are several castles in the vicinity of the town. All of them are interesting tourist destinations. Just come to visit them! Beckov, 12th century. Premises open to the public. Čachtický hrad, 13th century, ruins
- 19. Its history dates back to the Roman Empire, as evidenced by the inscription on the castle rock (179 A.D.) The castle is open to the public. Trenčín Tematín, 13th century, ruins
