- 3. Pears โ pests and diseases Pear leaf blister mite Aphids Pear rust Fireblight
- 4. Plums โ pests and diseases Aphids Plum sawfly Silverleaf disease Canker
- 5. Harvesting and storage Apples โ pick once they lift off in a cupped hand. Store in dark, cool place with moderate humidity (plastic bags with holes in in a dark shed). Slice and dry in very low oven; puree or slice and then freeze. Pears โ store less well. As for apples but do not wrap. Can bottle. Do not freeze well. Plums โ jam, bottle or freeze when cooked.
