Workshop Overview 
Overview of lessons learned and challenges faced by Active Living By Design’s (ALBD) Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities (HKHC) grantees 
Observations of culture changes around active living in eight communities across the state of Minnesota that participated in Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Active Living Minnesota (ALM) initiative.
Learning Objectives 
Replicate effective community engagement strategies when working in similar contexts to promote active transportation and equity enhancing results to support healthy communities. 
Broaden and/or establish a network for connecting with peers beyond the conference for shared learning opportunities, tools and strategies for advancing the field. 
Take advantage of HKHC and ALM dissemination materials that will be available to share with attendees, describing multiple communities' efforts related to active transportation, partnership development and community engagement. 
Engage in a realistic dialogue with on-the-ground professionals who have developed successful community partnerships to better understand what works as well as approaches that did not work.
