2. World Wide Web Consortium (W3C):
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is the main international standards
organization for the World Wide Web (abbreviated WWW or W3).
HTTP:
Short for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol, the underlying protocol used by the
World Wide Web. HTTP defines how messages are formatted and transmitted,
and what actions Web servers and browsers should take in response to various
commands
Web Serve:
Web Servers are used to store, process and deliver web pages to clients (e.g.
web browsers like Google Chrome). Although you could purchase a server to
run our website, most businesses use cloud storage services such as Amazon
Web Services (AWS) to host websites due to the cost savings and added
security.

3. Hosting
In order to get a website online, you need to host (or save) your
website files on a Web server connected to the internet. Hosting
service providers are a type of business that enables individuals
to save and access their website quickly without having to
purchase and connect their own web server. Most website
builders include hosting within their subscriptions.
ISP
Internet Service Provider: organization that provides access to the
Internet, and other services, such as email.

4. Network:
The Internet is a worldwide telecommunications system that
provides connectivity for millions of other, smaller networks;
therefore, the Internet is often referred to as a network of
networks. It allows computer users to communicate with each
other across distance and computer platforms.

A system for sending messages to one or more recipients via
telecommunications links between computers using dedicated
software or a web-based service:

5. SMTP:
Stands for "Simple Mail Transfer Protocol." This is the protocol
used for sending e-mail over the Internet. Your e-mail client (such
as Outlook, Eudora, or Mac OS X Mail) uses SMTP to send a
message to the mail server, and the mail server uses SMTP to
relay that message to the correct receiving mail server
Blog:
The word “blog” is a shortened version of web logs or weblogs.
Besides being shorter and catchier, “blog” seems less likely to
cause confusion, as “web log” can also mean a server’s log files

6. Web server:
A computer that runs a website. Using the HTTP protocol, the
Web server delivers Web pages to browsers as well as other data
files to Web-based applications. The Web server includes the
hardware, operating system, Web server software, TCP/IP
protocols and site content
DNS:
Domain Name Server (DNS) is a standard protocol that helps
Internet users discover websites using human readable addresses.
Like a phonebook which lets you look up the name of a person
and discover their number, DNS lets you type the address of a
website and automatically discover the Internet Protocol (IP)
address for that website.

7. Firewall
A firewall is software or firmware that prevents unauthorized
access to a network. It inspects incoming and outgoing traffic
using a set of rules to identify and block threats.
IP address
An IP address is a unique address that identifies a device on the
internet or a local network. IP stands for "Internet Protocol,"
IP addresses are made up of binary values and drive the routing
of all data over the Internet. IPv4 addresses are 32 bits long,
and IPv6 addresses 128 bits long.

8. Web Browser
A software application used to access information on the World
Wide Web is called a Web Browser.
Webpage
Web pages are what make up the World Wide Web. These
documents are written in HTML (hypertext markup language)
and are translated by your Web browser.
URL:
URL is an acronym that stands for Uniform Resource Locator
and is a reference (an address) to a resource on the Internet.

9. XML
Extensible Markup Language: Mark-up that enables transmission
and interpretation of data between applications or
organizations.
FTP:
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol and, as the name implies, it
is a way of transferring files between computers. It is also one of
those wonderful computer terms that’s both a noun and a verb.

HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is the code that is used to
structure a web page and its content. For example, content could
be structured within a set of paragraphs, a list of bulleted points,
or using images and data tables. As the title suggests, this article
will give you a basic understanding of HTML and its functions.
