• Old enough to use and understand tools used for lesson
• Make lessons so that all ages involved can understand and wont get
held back
• Don’t leave behind or make to difficult for younger kids
• Don’t hold back older students by dumbing down lesson for younger kids
• Let each student move at his/her pace
• Relate to all cultures, religions, genders, ethnic, or any other group
• Discuss music from all groups involved and try to teach something about it
3. Main Objective
Students will be able to name the basic parts of a guitar, what a note is,
what a chord is, and be able to fret at least one rift/verse/course of a
song by watching videos, visual demonstrations, and experimenting
with a guitar in one week with 70% accuracy.
4. Day by Day
• Day 1
• Students will look at guitar, visual aids, and pictures to learn the basics parts of a guitar
• Body, neck, frets, strings, and tuners
• Students can name each part of guitar when called on
• Day 2
• Students will watch videos and visual demonstration on learning how to tune
• Students can answer basic questions on which strings are tuned to what note and in what order
• Day 3
• Students will watch videos and visual demonstrations of differences of a notes and a chords
• Students can identify the difference in a note or a chord in a song
• Day 4
• Students will look up tabs, notes, and chords on websites such as ultimate-guitar.com and e-chords.com
• Students will watch visual demonstrations and instructions on reading tabs, notes, and chords
• Students can answer basic questions on how to read tabs, chords, and notes
• Day 5
• Students will watch videos on youtube.com and look up tabs/chords/notes on various websites to learn a song or part of one
• Students can play at least part of a song
