Optimising Your Front End Workflow With Symfony, Twig, Bower and GulpMatthew Davis
We take great care in our back end coding workflow, optimising, automating and abstracting as much as is possible. So why don't we do that with our front end code?
We'll take a look at some tools to help us take our front end workflow to the next level, and hopefully optimise our load times in the process!
We'll be looking at using Twig templates and optimising them for the different areas of your application, integrating Bower and Gulp for managing assets and processing our front-end code to avoid repetitive tasks - looking at how that impacts the typical Symfony workflow.
The Slides for a talk I gave on Blazor a few weeks after it's initial public preview.
A recorded version of the talk is available on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzGHw9ZzO1s
BP101: A Modernized Workflow w/ Domino/XPagesedm00se
Extending on some of the themes of front-end heavy application development, this session covered the higher order themes of development workflow automation, revolving around the concepts of modern web app development from a full stack perspective.
If you don't already use a PHP framework then this is for you. CakePHP is one of the more popular frameworks and is similar to RubyOnRails.
I will start you off at the very beginning as though you know nothing about CakePHP.
Blazor is a single-page web application (SPA) framework built on .NET that runs in the browser with Mono's WebAssembly run-time, or server-side via SignalR. Blazor features a component architecture, routing, a virtual DOM, and a JavaScript Interoperability (interop) API. Currently, Blazor is in an experimental state which allows for rapid development, iterations, and as implied, experimentation.

Joomla! is using successful branching model to maintain and keep stable and staging separate. My presentation is mainly focused on beginners. How joomla is working with git and github to track bugs and release. I will explain basic functionality of Git, it's setup, basic git commands, explanation of commands. This will be basic to advance, so it will also help those who already know git but not following proper development workflow in their application. This presentation will guide and encourage them to use proper workflow. Beginners will able to get knowledge of Joomla development workflow which will help them to contribute in project easily. Topics which I am planning to cover are below,

Performance matters and probably everyone hears that 1-second delay in page response can result in a 7% reduction in conversion, translating it to sales, potentially you are going to lose $2.5 million every year if your store is making $100.000 per day.
Even the best-optimized back-end solution can be ruined by the bunch of JavaScript libraries or even just not optimised images. It’s really easy to forget about front-end performance or let you clients ruin it just by adding unoptimized content and tons of tracking scripts.
I’ll show you a way to easily measure the Magento 2 front-end performance and how to find and eliminate bottlenecks. The talk will also cover common mistakes and show how different configuration options will affect page load and user experience.
Modern Web Application Development Workflow - EclipseCon France 2014Stéphane Bégaudeau
People often consider that creating a web application is done by creating a bunch of HTML, Javascript and CSS files in a text editor, putting them in a folder and uploading them on the web.
Well, things have changed and in this presentation, you will see how the workflow used to deliver web applications has evolved over the past few years and where the Eclipse Foundation's tools stand in this new world!
In this talk, we will start by having a look at all the new development tools that have appeared with the arrival of Node.js and how they are used by the web development community.
With tools like Bower used to manage the dependencies of a project, Grunt and Gulp used for the continuous integration and Yeoman used to kickstart web applications, web developers have dramatically increased their productivity.
After that, we will see what tools like the Eclipse IDE and Orion can offer to web developers in order to build and maintain their applications and finally how they could be improved to provide the features needed by web developers.

Incremental development is easy when we are talking about functionality. Story splitting has become quite popular as a technique lately.
But what about those cases when you need to do an architectural refactoring? Could incremental development be applied?

This presentation shall address the web2py web framework, my favorite way to develop web apps.
web2py is a free, open-source web framework for agile development of secure database-driven web applications; it is written in Python and programmable in Python. web2py is a full-stack framework, meaning that it contains all the components you need to build fully functional web applications.
Ease of use is the primary goal for web2py. For us, this means reducing the learning and deployment time. This is why web2py is a full-stack framework without dependencies. It requires no installation and has no configuration files. Everything works out of the box, including a web server, database and a web-based IDE that gives access to all the main features.
I will show you why web2py can make you more productive by bringing the result of a reflection over the best ideas of the most popular MVC based web frameworks enforcing the best practices for a fast, scalable and secure web application with minimal effort. There will be a live demo where you can get a faster grasp on how does it work and how fun it can be.

Using HttpWatch Plug-in with Selenium Automation in JavaSandeep Tol
This article will give the developers and testers to use Java programming for capturing IE browser HTTP logs using HTTP Watch Plug-in (V10) , in Selenium scripts
HTTP Watch comes with inbuilt API support to integrate with selenium scripts written in C# or PHP scripts . Refer http://apihelp.httpwatch.com/#Automation%20Overview.html
But unfortunately they don’t have API written for JAVA. There are no samples or articles available to use Httpwtach with Java interface.
Using this article you would learn how HttpWatch plug-in which component can be easily interfaced with Java code and then executed via selenium script.
The solution is to use Java COM bridge and invoke HTTP Watch plugin API from Java based selenium scripts.

Understanding Globus Data Transfers with NetSageGlobus
NetSage is an open privacy-aware network measurement, analysis, and visualization service designed to help end-users visualize and reason about large data transfers. NetSage traditionally has used a combination of passive measurements, including SNMP and flow data, as well as active measurements, mainly perfSONAR, to provide longitudinal network performance data visualization. It has been deployed by dozens of networks world wide, and is supported domestically by the Engagement and Performance Operations Center (EPOC), NSF #2328479. We have recently expanded the NetSage data sources to include logs for Globus data transfers, following the same privacy-preserving approach as for Flow data. Using the logs for the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) as an example, this talk will walk through several different example use cases that NetSage can answer, including: Who is using Globus to share data with my institution, and what kind of performance are they able to achieve? How many transfers has Globus supported for us? Which sites are we sharing the most data with, and how is that changing over time? How is my site using Globus to move data internally, and what kind of performance do we see for those transfers? What percentage of data transfers at my institution used Globus, and how did the overall data transfer performance compare to the Globus users?

How to Position Your Globus Data Portal for Success Ten Good PracticesGlobus
Science gateways allow science and engineering communities to access shared data, software, computing services, and instruments. Science gateways have gained a lot of traction in the last twenty years, as evidenced by projects such as the Science Gateways Community Institute (SGCI) and the Center of Excellence on Science Gateways (SGX3) in the US, The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) and its platforms in Australia, and the projects around Virtual Research Environments in Europe. A few mature frameworks have evolved with their different strengths and foci and have been taken up by a larger community such as the Globus Data Portal, Hubzero, Tapis, and Galaxy. However, even when gateways are built on successful frameworks, they continue to face the challenges of ongoing maintenance costs and how to meet the ever-expanding needs of the community they serve with enhanced features. It is not uncommon that gateways with compelling use cases are nonetheless unable to get past the prototype phase and become a full production service, or if they do, they don't survive more than a couple of years. While there is no guaranteed pathway to success, it seems likely that for any gateway there is a need for a strong community and/or solid funding streams to create and sustain its success. With over twenty years of examples to draw from, this presentation goes into detail for ten factors common to successful and enduring gateways that effectively serve as best practices for any new or developing gateway.

SOCRadar Research Team: Latest Activities of IntelBrokerSOCRadar
The European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) has suffered an alleged data breach after a notorious threat actor claimed to have exfiltrated data from its systems. Infamous data leaker IntelBroker posted on the even more infamous BreachForums hacking forum, saying that Europol suffered a data breach this month.
The alleged breach affected Europol agencies CCSE, EC3, Europol Platform for Experts, Law Enforcement Forum, and SIRIUS. Infiltration of these entities can disrupt ongoing investigations and compromise sensitive intelligence shared among international law enforcement agencies.
However, this is neither the first nor the last activity of IntekBroker. We have compiled for you what happened in the last few days. To track such hacker activities on dark web sources like hacker forums, private Telegram channels, and other hidden platforms where cyber threats often originate, you can check SOCRadar’s Dark Web News.

First Steps with Globus Compute Multi-User EndpointsGlobus
In this presentation we will share our experiences around getting started with the Globus Compute multi-user endpoint. Working with the Pharmacology group at the University of Auckland, we have previously written an application using Globus Compute that can offload computationally expensive steps in the researcher's workflows, which they wish to manage from their familiar Windows environments, onto the NeSI (New Zealand eScience Infrastructure) cluster. Some of the challenges we have encountered were that each researcher had to set up and manage their own single-user globus compute endpoint and that the workloads had varying resource requirements (CPUs, memory and wall time) between different runs. We hope that the multi-user endpoint will help to address these challenges and share an update on our progress here.
